After a tough 2-week international campaign, the Minnesota Vikings got a much-needed bye week. Now, they gear up to host the Philadelphia Eagles for their Week 7 battle. But the Vikings head coach, Kevin O’Connell, is dealing with major shifts on the roster due to injuries, while the Eagles are also looking at an impactful shift themselves. Here’s the injury report for both teams, starting with the hosts.

The Vikings’ outside linebacker, Andrew Van Ginkel, had been a limited participant throughout the week, dealing with a neck injury. He had only played two games through September, after which he landed in the concussion protocol. Kevin O’Connell had noted that he’s out of the protocol, but his return to the field remained a question mark. Now, he has been ruled out for Week 7. Beyond Ginkel’s sure absence, the team’s dealing with six question marks.

Outside linebacker Tyler Batty (knee) has been deemed questionable, along with fellow linebacker Blake Cashman (hamstring). Cashman and Batty were both set to return from the IR. Seeing that both of them were full participants this week, they might just suit up. Center Michal Jurgens is also dealing with a hamstring injury, but all three of them have been full participants this week.

Defensive lineman Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins (hip) is also questionable with a hip injury, along with tackle Brian O’Neil (knee). Both of them were limited participants throughout the week’s drills. But the biggest question mark swirls around the Vikings quarterback, JJ McCarthy.

JJ McCarthy had been a limited participant in practice all week, getting back in the groove from his ankle injury. With McCarthy questionable, Carson Wentz will be the starting quarterback, with Max Brosmer serving as a backup. There’s still a chance Kevin O’Connell will hand the reins back to McCarthy, but his current designation remains the emergency quarterback. If Wentz and Brosmer are healthy, McCarthy will simply watch from the sidelines.

While the Vikings navigate these question marks, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is looking at Week 7 without a key piece of his offense. Here’s Philly’s (albeit shorter) injury report.

Jalen Hurts’ offensive gap and Philly’s questionable

The Eagles had a strong start throughout September. But October has seen them with a two-game losing streak. After scoring just 17 points in both Week 5 and 6, Philly’s offense needed a spark of resurgence. But the injury that had haunted Jalen Hurts & Co. in Week 5 continues to be a headache against the Vikings.

Grant Calcaterra, the Eagles’ tight end, had suffered an oblique injury early in Philly’s clash with the Denver Broncos. While he was deemed questionable at first, he was later downgraded as ‘out’ for the rest of the game. Calcaterra had missed the Week 6 match against the New York Giants as well. Now, still recovering from his oblique injury, Calcaterra is marked as ‘out’ for Week 7.

Additionally, just two other players find themselves questionable against the Vikings. Guard Landon Dickerson had been a limited participant with an ankle injury on Wednesday and Thursday (15th and 16th Oct.). He was elevated to a full participant on Friday. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter, on the other hand, had been a full participant on Wednesday. But his heel injury has once again downgraded him to limited participation for the rest of the week. Both of them are now questionable for the Vikings matchup.
