The Philadelphia Eagles have been making headlines for both on- and off-field drama. They are 7-2 and sit atop the NFC East, having defeated the likes of the Packers, Vikings, and Chiefs on the road. Their ongoing successful season might have taken a hit with the off-field drama with A.J. Brown, unhappy with the Eagles’ offense, and calling it “A S*** show” has stirred the internet. The Birds’ fans and several personalities have commented on the incident. Recently, NFL legend and former Eagles wide receiver, Terrell Owens, shared his insights on the developments on Fox29, mentioning the Birds’ QB’s role.

“Jalen has to shoulder some of that responsibility too, because he’s the quarterback, he’s an extension of the head coach and the offensive coordinator,” Owens said. “I truly understand where he’s (Brown) coming from, you have to utilize the guy based on his skillset.” The former Eagles WR is not okay with Brown taking all the criticism.

“If you’re in an offense, especially with (Brown) being WR1, you want to be involved in the offense. I don’t blame him, that’s an offensive coordinator thing.” Owens was unhappy with the way Jalen Hurts has been coordinating the offense, especially with Brown.

A.J. Brown’s cryptic message on Twitch while playing NFL Madden 26 against JankyRondo has sent the Birds fans into a frenzy. The WR’s frustrations have been getting to him, and for the right reasons. Having played nine games in the 2025 NFL season, Brown’s average receiving yards stand at 13.2. During three games, he registered less than 15 receiving yards. Based on his stats, this could become the worst season of his career.

However, it looks like he has found some comfort through Terrell Owens’ words, who has asked the Eagles’ fans to lay off the wide receiving and Jalen Hurts to “get the guy the ball.” While Owens has highlighted Jalen Hurts, it’s the Philadelphia Eagles’ entire offense that has been underperforming.

The Eagles are not at their best offensively

Terrell Owens has picked his words wisely when asking Jalen Hurts to shoulder some responsibilities. A.J. Brown’s frustrations may have put him in the big picture, but when considering the overall offensive statistics of the Eagles, it can be pretty shocking.

Last season, Jalen Hurts’ average was 8 yards per attempt for A.J. Brown, but the current year has seen a sharp decline to 7.7 yards. The same goes for RB Saquon Barkley. From averaging 5.8 yards per carry, the running back dropped to 3.9 yards. The Eagles are having a great season, and the playoffs are very much possible. But when speaking of the Super Bowl, there is a big “But” with the offense and its coordinator.

When asked about the recent controversy, Jalen Hurts was clear on where his priorities lay.

“My focus always goes back to what the group is doing and what the collective is,” Hurts said during the press conference. “Obviously, A.J. (Brown) plays a pivotal role in what we’ve been and what we’ve done, and we have to continue to grow with that every day.” The QB knows what he is doing and has nothing but praise for the WR.”

Many have called the controversy “toxic,” and each has their own views regarding the situation. The Eagles take on the Detroit Lions in Week 11. The Detroit Lions are 6-2 and one of the best teams in the league. The match is shaping up to be exciting, with everyone wanting to see whether the Eagles’ offensive lineup makes a comeback or further strengthens A.J. Brown’s belief, a “s*** show”.
