Owner Jerry Jones was so baffled by the historic loss that he nearly threatened to fire a radio host. However, the one most directly involved in the game, QB Dak Prescott, seems the least affected.

Dak Prescott appeared surprisingly relaxed, spending the bye week with his girlfriend, Sarah Jane Ramos, and their baby girl. On October 16, they were spotted at Café Pacific in Dallas. Prescott shared a photo from his girlfriend’s Instagram post—featuring their daughter—on his IG story with the caption, “My world 4ever.” It seemed like a great way to unwind after such a devastating 9-47 loss, the worst in franchise history.

Monday was tough for Prescott, but he found support in Sarah. She posted a video of Prescott entering the field on IG, and two days later, she shared moments of them relaxing with their daughter at the café. It seems Prescott’s girls are helping him through tough times. Such affection may soothe a broken heart, but it will take more than that to fix things on the field.

The game was a real setback for the entire Cowboys team, but Dak Prescott remained optimistic afterward, saying, “We were 3-5 before (in 2018) we got rolling. I don’t plan to be 3-5 with this team, though. That’s up to the front office, if you know what I mean. I’ve got a lot of confidence in the guys we’ve got in the locker room… My job is to make sure I keep pushing the locker room.” Prescott really needs to beef up his game during this break.

A deja vu for Dak Prescott in the bye week!

The Monday game against the Detroit Lions exposed the Dallas Cowboys QB’s shortcomings. He struggled significantly. The red zone numbers paint a grim picture of the “Man with the Bag” — a nickname Dak Prescott earned after securing a 4-year, $240 million extension. This contract, with $231 million guaranteed, made him the richest NFL player. But his performance has placed him among the worst quarterbacks this season.

Amidst a 3-3 start, Prescott has been the worst QB, particularly inside the 20-yard line. He has scored a touchdown on just 37.5% of red zone drives and has had three turnovers — two interceptions and one fumble — in the red zone. This season, Prescott has thrown for 1,602 yards with 8 TDs. What’s scarier than these numbers? The six interceptions he’s thrown across six games.

After the blowout in the Monday game, Dak Prescott said, “I feel like we were at this point kind of last year. Going into the bye, the red zone was a struggle. Went into the bye, and figured some things out. Came out playing a lot better. I can tell you we plan to do the same. I plan to prepare over the bye week to figure out what we can do in the red zone better.” It seems like déjà vu for him. The Cowboys had a Week 7 bye in the 2023 season as well, and Prescott was struggling then, too. He had a completion rate of 56.1% in 2023, and the current numbers are even worse. In the game against the Detroit Lions, Dak Prescott completed 17 of 33 attempts, with no touchdowns, and was intercepted twice.
