With the Indianapolis Colts ruling the AFC South, Daniel Jones’ popularity has taken off. In the major 38-14 win against the Tennessee Titans, the star quarterback wowed everyone with 3 TD passes. As the franchise gets to the top of the league with a 7-1 record, cheers for Jones are getting louder. In fact, the player just got a big “offer” from a Colts legend as if he wasn’t already making serious money.

During his appearance on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show, Daniel received an offer he couldn’t refuse. “We want you to sign a 10-year contract here,” the former Colts punter told Jones. It may seem like a playful proposal with Pat insisting he wouldn’t negotiate publicly. His words, however, clearly showed how much he respects and admires Jones’ impact on the franchise.

“We are very lucky to have you…in our city. You need to know that,” McAfee added. While Pat’s “contract” was all in good fun, the ex-Giants QB has already cashed in big. The Colts’ winning streak has earned Daniel a bonus amount of $600,000 so far. It’s part of an incentive clause that depends on the number of wins and snap counts.
In 2025, the Charlotte-born player signed a one-year contract with the Colts for $14 million, including $13.2 million in guarantees. Under the deal, Daniel Jones earns $100,000 every time his team wins, and he plays over half the snaps. Additionally, he earns a weekly roster bonus of $50,000. Interestingly, the Colts had only modest expectations while locking these figures.

Only a handful thought Daniel could deliver such an electrifying performance after his release from the Giants. Despite beating out Anthony Richardson for the starting role, Jones was merely a short-term option for Indianapolis. But his breakout role in the ongoing season has changed the narrative. Here’s a look at his incredible journey with the team.
Daniel Jones has found a new life with the Colts
In his first-ever season with the two-time Super Bowl champions, Daniel Jones looks more confident than ever. He’s more consistent now, unlike his second-last season with the Giants, which invited much hatred. It looks like Jones is in full control of the offense at his current franchise.
Through eight weeks, Daniel Jones has recorded some of the best numbers of his career. He has completed 71.2% of his passes and has been making accurate deep throws. In the team’s latest win against the Titans, he threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns with a 136.0 passer rating. The credit behind these impressive figures also goes to head coach Shane Steichen’s strategies, which suit Jones well.

After playing under three different head coaches and four different offensive coordinators, Jones has finally found his footing again. His ability to read defenses, protect the ball, and make quick throws has contributed immensely to the Colts. No wonder they are topping the AFC South. It’s safe to say that what started as a one-year opportunity has redefined Daniel Jones’ career, which might result in a long-term contract.
