Speaking on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, Kelce kept it short. The song puts the spotlight on Swift’s life with Kelce and his Ohio roots.
The song references Travis taking Taylor to Cleveland, showing her where he grew up, turning his hometown into an important part of their love story.
“Cleveland” was released on “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore,” the extended edition of her 2025 album, on 25 September this year. It was released alongside three other songs, including “Patient Zero.”
The pop star also used her latest song to push back against the criticism around her public image, relationship, clothes, appearance, and dancing. The chorus tells the critics to hate all they like because she has found the love of her life.
The official video of the song also shows a video montage of Swift and Travis traveling to Cleveland, giving fans a glimpse of their connection to the city.
Jason Kelce, the tight end’s brother, also shared his reaction on the same episode.
“That song is incredible. Kylie and I have been listening to it so much. There’s just something about it makes you feel really good. It’s a great song.”
For Travis, however, the bigger admission also appeared to be what Swift’s song meant for Cleveland itself. Kelce has always been open about his admiration for his wife’s music.
“Cleveland!” is not the first song Taylor wrote for Travis. She has dedicated So High School from The Tortured Poets Department and “Wood” from The Life of a Showgirl to Kelce.
This time, the song comes with a football superstar, his hometown, and a relationship that has remained under constant public attention. Kelce seems happy, celebrating the city that made him what he is with Tay Tay.
