After a poor start to the season, Patrick Mahomes is finally pulling the strings for the Kansas City Chiefs. And much like the Chiefs’ quarterback, his mother, Randi Mahomes, is also making waves recently in a full-circle moment.

Randi posted on Instagram that she went back home to Troup, Texas, and stepped onto a stage that means a lot to her: one she graduated from long ago. This time, though, she wasn’t in the audience. She was on the stage, speaking to the National Honor Society students.

“Full circle moment in Troup, Texas. I got to speak to the National Honor Society on the very same stage I graduated from… what an honor and a blessing!❤️” Randi captioned on her official Instagram account.

Troup ISD’s NHS chapter is an active group, where they regularly spotlight student achievements and organize community service projects. So Randi’s appearance fit right into something ongoing and meaningful. She was back home, speaking to kids walking the same halls she once did. For her, that moment probably felt every bit as emotional as watching Patrick win a Super Bowl.

However, this isn’t the first time she’s had one of those “life comes full circle” moments. Earlier this year, in August, Randi took the stage at a leadership event in Tyler, Texas, her hometown, and delivered another heartfelt talk. “Tyler, TX has given me so many friendships and memories. I felt right at home on that stage. Thank you for having me!” she wrote afterward.

In small towns like Tyler, such events have ripple effects that help fund local scholarships, fill up food banks, and keep community projects alive. Her few words on stage might’ve changed someone’s life.

And while Randi’s out there collecting full-circle moments of her own, her son is busy looking more and more like vintage Mahomes again as he gears up to face the Lions this week.

The Chiefs opened the season in full-on panic mode, starting 0–2, something we’ve rarely seen in the Mahomes era. But they’ve managed to find their footing since then, sitting at 2–3 now, and you can trace a lot of that turnaround straight back to No. 15 rediscovering his rhythm.

Through those first two losses, Mahomes completed just 58.8% of his passes for 445 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Sure, he added 123 yards and two scores on the ground, but even he admitted it wasn’t good enough.

“We have the mindset of going out there and being even better,” Mahomes had said just last month. “In my eyes, it looks like what an opportunity, what an opportunity to prove who we are as the Kansas City Chiefs.”

Safe to say, the Chiefs’ quarterback is getting back to his usual self.

Kansas may have dropped a close game to the Jaguars last week, but Mahomes looked electric again, completing 29 of 41 passes for 318 yards, a touchdown, and a pick, plus six carries for 60 yards and another score. Over his last three games, he’s thrown for six touchdowns and 812 yards, completing 76 of 115 passes.

That’s not even Mahomes at his ceiling, but it’s definitely trending back in that direction. And with a banged-up Lions secondary on deck, there’s a good chance he’ll pad those numbers even more in Week 6.

The best part for Kansas City? Mahomes isn’t doing it alone. The Chiefs have quietly put together some solid football lately. Even without Rashee Rice in the lineup, the offense has been finding its rhythm, and the defense has held its own. Add in a more manageable stretch of games coming up, and the Chiefs fans have a reason to hope.
