The Kansas City Chiefs‘ wide receiver problems? That was surely talk of the street in the last season. Take Rashee Rice, for instance—he was supposed to be the guy after a strong rookie year. Everyone had their fingers crossed, thinking he’d be the spark they needed. But then, in Week 4 against the Chargers, Mahomes and Rice ended up colliding, and just like that, Rice’s season was in jeopardy.

Now, with his return for 2025 still uncertain, the Chiefs were left with a serious hole in their offense. Then there was Hollywood Brown, who was expected to bring back some of his 2021 magic. But injury struck again, and his Chiefs debut was delayed when he suffered a dislocated sternoclavicular (SC) joint in the preseason opener against the Jaguars. Just like that, Brown was out for most of the season, and in their absence, rookie Xavier Worthy took the reins for the Chiefs’ WR room.

Fast forward to now, and it looks like the KC doesn’t want to repeat the same things in the next season. Now that the NFL draft is just a week away, the team’s general manager, Brett Veach, confirmed that the offensive line, defensive line, cornerback, and wide receiver as areas the Chiefs could target in the draft. The Chiefs’ Senior Team Reporter, Matt McMullen, broke the news on his official ‘X’ handle.

To address the Chiefs’ receiver needs, McMullen identified a few top wideout prospects. For starters, Tetairoa McMillan of Arizona is entering the draft after recording the best couple of seasons of his collegiate career. Standing at 6’4” and weighing 219 pounds, McMillan was one of the top receivers not just in Arizona but in all of college football in 2024. He ranked third in the FBS with 1,319 receiving yards in 2024 (3,423 yards across his collegiate career).

Then there is Luther Burden, a native of St. Louis who played for the Missouri Tigers. Sure, his numbers kinda dipped in the last season, but the guy had a breakout season in 2023 with 86 catches for 1,212 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Now’s the interesting prospect. Matthew Golden of Texas. Now, whenever someone says “Texas,” everyone’s mind jumps straight to Xavier Worthy, right?

The guy who smoked the 40-yard dash record at the Combine with a ridiculous 4.21. But guess who’s right behind him? Yep, Golden. Same Longhorns jersey, same explosive speed. And it’s not just about the wheels—he led the team with 987 receiving yards last season and racked up nine touchdowns while he was at it. The guy’s got game.

With that being said, the Chiefs hold eight selections in this year’s NFL draft, with 31st in the first round. Don’t be surprised if they draft yet another wideout to their roster. Speaking of wideout, there’s one guy whose future is still in question.

Have an interesting take?

Where are we seeing Tyreek Hill in the 2025 season?

Tyreek Hill’s trade chatter hasn’t stopped at all. Here’s the deal: it all kicked off after the Dolphins wrapped up a rough 8-9 season, missing the playoffs. Hill, clearly frustrated, dropped a cryptic “I’m out” post-game comment, which sent the rumor mill into overdrive. He later clarified he loves being in Miami, but the damage was done. Add in some social media trolling and a few off-field incidents, and suddenly, everyone’s talking about a potential trade.

Enter NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who reported that “No, Tyreek Hill is not getting traded.” You know, due to cap implications. But does that stop the speculations? Absolutely not. In fact, Hill’s exit rumors from Miami are increasing day by day. And we’re not making that up, folks. Dolphins’ general manager, Chris Grier, remarked that the franchise is open to considering a trade for Hill.

“That is not anything that we’re pursuing. Who knows? If someone wants to come and give me two first-round picks, we’ll consider it,” Grier remarked. Well, there you go. This statement is enough to set the stage for a possible trade for the star wide receiver. However, his contract may affect the trade possibilities for the team. The guy signed a three-year $90 million deal last year, and that’s where it gets pretty interesting.

Because Trading Hill before June? It’s like tossing cash into a bonfire. The Dolphins would be stuck with a $28.3 million cap hit just for saying goodbye. But if they chill till summer? Boom—dead money drops to $12.7 million, and they save a sweet $15 million. So yeah, if a trade’s gonna happen, it’s a summer fling, not a spring breakup. All in all, a Tyreek Hill trade isn’t off the table. But the real fun? Seeing who’s bold enough to pick up the phone and hit up the Dolphins for him.
