Flashback to September 2024, mother Randi Mahomes found herself torn between the dualities of life—one that would make her feel the most blessed watching her eldest child Patrick Mahomes turning 29, and the other where she has been reeling from the inevitable sight of an aging father. All at the same time. Randi, who lost her mother in 2023, has been taking care of her ailing father for a longtime now.

Just last September, Randi had to admit her father to the hospital with an undisclosed illness. “This is how I fight my battles. If you are seeing this, take a moment, and PRAY for my dad now,” she captioned her Instagram story. Since then a lot has happened in Randi’s life. Be it endorsing Donald Trump at the Chiefs’ game in November or fulfilling a longtime wish of her younger son Jackson in December, Randi has done it all while supporting her ailing father Randy Martin during his tough times.

Growing up, his values of hard work, humility, and preservance became the foundation of Randi’s own life. Although her father’s health has declined over time, Randi always finds herself drawing strength from the lessons taught to her. Her recent Instagram is an example of the same.

However, despite all the stress, she managed to find a reason to celebrate—her dad’s birthday on January 6th—a bittersweet moment. Taking to Instagram, where she updates her personal life, Randi shared a picture with her dad in front of a possible private jet. She also captioned the story, wishing her father, “Happy Birthday Daddy. I love You.”

Anyone who closely follows Randi’s would know how she just celebrated Thanksgiving with her father. However, after a month, tragedy yet again struck down Randi’s hopes of seeing her father completely recover. She yet again pleaded with her followers to pray for his father’s quick recovery after getting hospitalized.

Randi Mahomes continues to ask for prayers amid her father’s illness

Holiday spirits were flying high in the Mahomes household as the Chiefs QB secured his team’s No.1 AFC seed. But Randi couldn’t really celebrate her New Year like others. Taking to her IG story, Mahomes’ mom updated her fans on Martin’s sudden deterioration of health, “Prayer warriors, please pray for my daddy. He is in the hospital and is not well.” Like, that’s the worst possible to end a year, which has again and again thrown a curveball toward Randi. Now, after a few days, on January 3rd, Patrick Mahomes’ mom offered another update that painted a positive picture, to say the least, “Friday night visiting my dad.”

Besides how tough Randi’s holiday has been, she did receive a Christmas gift from her father. And let’s just say he also misses his family because of constant troubles with health. Just like always, Randi took to her IG stories and shared a message from her dad, “Share the most precious gift—your time.” What made that message more special was that Patrick Mahomes’ grandfather had written that message with his own hands, “My Daddy’s notes.”

This made Randi quite emotional as she sent a strong message to her followers before sharing her father’s Christmas gift. Randi’s message read, “Three things you cannot recover in life: a word after it’s said, the moment after it’s missed, and the time after it’s gone.” So remember guys, life is short, don’t take anything for granted. Always try to cherish every second you spend with your loved ones. And let them know how much you appreciate them having in your life.
