Did Jameis Winston just subtly hint to the Giants that he is better than Russell Wilson? Winston and Wilson will now be playing for the same team in the 2025 season. The NY Giants signed the two veteran QBs last month, throwing speculation that they’d rely on the draft to find their QB solution out of whack. And the moment people found out, there was only one question on everybody’s mind: Who will be the QB1? Many assume it will most likely be Russ. The ex-Steelers QB showed the Giants big dreams at his introductory press conference.

And now it’s Jameis’ turn. Well, the QB has not said anything directly, but a radio host thinks that the ex-Browns QB took a ‘ridiculous route’ to say the same thing. On Thursday, Jameis Winston bid the Cleveland Browns a final goodbye, posting a long, emotional note on his IG. Everything was fine until the 31-year-old penned a favorite memory of his 2024 season. And that was beating Russell Wilson’s former team, the Steelers, in Week 12. “One moment I’ll never forget, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football in what turned out to be the most iconic snow game in NFL history. The energy, the emotion, the unity, we all felt it. That night was Cleveland at its finest,” he wrote in his caption.

The game Winston is talking about took place on November 21, when the Browns beat the Steelers 24-19. Winston racked up 219 yards in that game with zero TDs, while Browns RB Nick Chubb secured two TDs for the team. The Steelers and Browns faced off twice during the 2024 season, with each team winning one game apiece. Now, radio host Shaun Morash feels that Jameis put this particular part in the caption just to tell the Giants that he beat Russell Wilson. “If you like the idea that Jameis Winston makes you laugh and do all that, that’s all good and plenty. Jameis Winston stinks, okay, and I’ve been adamant about this,” said Shaun on his recent radio show.

Accusing Winston of deliberately mentioning that game in the caption to berate his QB competition, Shaun added, “He’s so good, man. He puts it in there because he knows anybody reading that is good. There are going to be light bulbs that go off in people’s heads that he beat Russell Wilson head-to-head, all while lying and calling it the most iconic game. So now, here we go.

Now, netizens are firing back at the WFAN Sports Radio host, calling him out for his remarks.

Social media explodes after WFAN Host’s take on Jameis Winston

Host Shaun Morash went off as he took jabs at Jameis Winston. Sometimes, people go overboard with their opinions, and that’s exactly what happened with Shaun. The radio host went to the extreme, saying, “This guy is an unintentional cancer. Cut him today.” And there was no way people were going to let that slide. Consider the source here. This is the same dumb a– that thought Saquon would do nothing with the Eagles,” wrote one user, firing back at Shaun.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Jameis Winston really outshine Russell Wilson, or is this just wishful thinking from fans?

Have an interesting take?

Talking about the Giants’ QB situation, Morash added, “He’s not better than Russell Wilson. The team should be taking a quarterback in the draft, and Tommy DeVito still exists.” One user clapped back at the choice of DeVito over Winston, saying, “If he thinks DeVito is better than Winston, his opinion is useless.

Another user chimed in, saying, “This guy is a madman. What happens when Russ sucks and y’all go back to DeVito, if not Winston? Jameis is a great locker-room guy and will help this team.A user then went on to include Russell Wilson in the crossfire, writing, “What a loser and what a stupid-a– take. I hope he beats out Wilson now. Wilson is kind of a pain in the a– too, and he’s not that much better than Winston. Nobody seems to like the dude anywhere he plays. Can’t say the same for Winston.

Well, there are still four months left before the Giants line up on the gridiron for 2025, yet people are already going crazy over this debate. Plus, there are still chances the Giants could pick up a QB from the draft as well. The team might prefer a veteran as the QB1 rather than going with a young talent, but the NFL is never short on drama.
