Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson responded to his critics by delivering head coach Todd Monken his maiden victory in Cleveland with a gritty 23-19 upset in Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season. That dramatic turnaround prompted a fiery postgame hype edit of Watson on Instagram with “Silence The Haters” as the tagline, where his wife, Jilly Anais, expressed a strong message in the comments to everyone who had written her husband off.

Anais jumped straight into the comment section to back her husband, typing out: “HEARD YOU WEEZY 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️.” The couple, who officially tied the knot in Miami on July 3, 2025, after 6 years together, has consistently stayed united in public against relentless outside criticism directed at Watson’s career. 

Heading into Raymond James Stadium, the heat on Watson had reached a boiling point, with Associated Press reporter Rob Maaddi indicating the veteran QB might legitimately be facing his final start for the Browns if he faltered again. 

To make matters tougher, Cleveland’s run game flopped on the day. RB Quinshon Judkins only managed 21 yards on 12 carries. This forced Watson to take the offensive load of the team fully on his shoulders, and he did. He ended the night as the team’s leading rusher with 22 yards on 7 carries.

His 121.9 passer rating was a testament to the immense importance of his performance that eventually resulted in the Browns winning the game 23-19.

Even the song selection for the Instagram post was impeccable. Wayne Schneider chose the intro of a 2000s hip-hop Gangsta Rap classic, “Many Men” from famous American rapper 50 Cent’s album, “Get Rich or Die Tryin’”.

The theme of the song talks about 50 Cent surviving nine gunshots; the song focuses on making a comeback and beating people who plotted your downfall. That narrative felt tailor-made for Deshaun Watson and the situation he currently is in. His unavailability through injuries and suspensions and his poor performances since making the move to Cleveland have made him lose goodwill among the Dawg Pound. 

Add to this his fiery statements calling a booing incident started by the home fans “disrespectful,” and inability to perform well in the preseason, and then the 34-10 thrashing by the Jacksonville Jaguars meant that most of the Browns fanbase was wishing for his downfall.
