Khalen took to X and wrote: “I know yall gon hate me for this comment. But, did the Panthers not just do the same pass interference that Trent got called for????” KC won at the end, but just. A 30-27 is barely a W. But the KC team escaped the blemishes of back-to-back defeats.

But he’s got a point, doesn’t he? Those two end-zone pass interference penalties against Chamarri Conner and Trent McDuffie nearly handed the Panthers a comeback. A tied game with under two minutes to go is never where you want to be, even if you’re Mahomes-led.

Valid as his point may be, the NFL doesn’t take kindly to players calling out refs. According to Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, criticizing officiating publicly is a no-go. It’s considered “detrimental to the integrity of the game,” which is the NFL’s way of saying, “Keep it classy, or you’ll be fined.” But let’s be real—Khalen said what a lot of fans were probably thinking. After all, if McDuffie’s play was PI, why wasn’t the Panthers’ identical move called out? Consistency is out of the window.

While KC fans breathed a sigh of relief, one thing’s clear—Saunders isn’t over his Chiefs connection. Or he may be just clinging on with the Taylor Swift thread.

Thursday night, Saunders gave fans a backstage pass via his Instagram story. He vibed to Swift classics like “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story” and couldn’t help but cheer for Kam’s moment in “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Who wouldn’t root for their brother to own the stage?

Despite rocking New Orleans colors now, Khalen’s Kansas City connection is hard to shake. I mean, even if he did try he cannot really change the fact that TS and KC go hand-in-hand. Plus, the memories of being drafted in the third round, battling injuries, and ultimately hoisting the Lombardi Trophy aren’t going anywhere.
