Brandon Allen will be the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers‘ Sunday game against the Green Bay Packers. According to HC Kyle Shanahan, Brock Purdy suffered serious shoulder soreness, giving the 49ers’ backup QB #17 a chance to shine for at least one game. It is surely a golden opportunity for Allen to prove himself on the field.

Apart from the news, the 32-year-old quarterback enjoys his personal life with his wife, Sarah Connley, and their two children. The couple celebrated their 5th marriage anniversary in April this year. It’s fascinating how Sarah and Brandon met during their undergraduate years. The 49ers’ fans got an opportunity to see Allen’s family in an Instagram post on April 2, 2024. In that post, he was seen enjoying a good time with his family on the beach. The couple’s older child was playing on the sand, whereas the one-year-old was in Sarah’s arms.

Sarah and Brandon met at a concert for the first time in college. Both were introduced by a mutual friend. As both of them happen to be dog lovers, Brandon used to look after Sarah’s dog, Teddy. It was only to meet Sarah often. It’s also said that they used to meet frequently at a dog park before they started dating. In 2019, Brandon and Sarah got hitched in Springdale, Arkansas.

After their marriage ceremony in Arkansas, the couple shared news about expecting their first child in 2019. In June, the Allen couple welcomed their first boy – Oakland Duc Allen. Sarah actively drops updates about her husband’s life off the field on Instagram. After welcoming their first child, they announced that they were expecting a second boy (Ellis) in 2023.

Brandon and Sarah have truly enjoyed being together for 5 years now. As the 49ers’ star said about his wife, “She is the only person I have ever wanted to hang out with every single day. We have fun doing nothing together and she will never say no to re-watching my favorite movies for the 100th time.” So, it should not surprise us if Sarah is so happy with the recent news about her husband.

The Niners’ star has landed an incredible opportunity for Sunday’s game. The franchise also believes in Allen’s strengths as a replacement for Purdy. In head coach Shanahan’s words, “I think Brandon’s a really good thrower, runs our offense well, has done a really good job since he’s been here. Been here two years now, and guys believe in him and think he’ll give us a good chance to win.”
