Essentials Inside The Story
- The Buffalo Bills suffered a heartbreaking 33–30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round.
- Bills defensive end Joey Bosa showed his frustration physically.
- Offensive lineman Dion Dawkins was visibly emotional, breaking down as he defended Josh Allen.
Without using a single word, Joey Bosa summed up the pain of the Buffalo Bills‘ 33-30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos. The pass-rusher was captured coming off Empower Field after suffering a few questionable calls that didn’t go his way. In the heat of the moment, he ended up throwing it at the wall of the tunnel.

The clip of him forcefully throwing his helmet quickly spread across the internet after The Athletic‘s James Palmer shared it on X.
“Joey Bosa just lost it in the tunnel,” the caption read.
Not his actions, but his frustration was perhaps justified given how he was called for roughing the passer on the Broncos’ final drive. The penalty was ultimately declined in favor of a pass interference call on Taron Johnson.

The game overall ended in Chaos for Bosa and the Bills.
Their QB Josh Allen threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns, but his four turnovers, including a costly interception in overtime, led to Buffalo’s loss. Meanwhile, Broncos QB Bo Nix delivered when it mattered most for his team.
Bo Nix passed for 279 yards and three touchdowns, including a 26-yard touchdown throw to Marvin Mims Jr. that nearly won the game in regulation. The game-winning field goal was set up by two defensive pass interference penalties on the Bills, totaling 48 yards. This loss, in particular, seems more painful for the Bills, especially after two conference title defeats and the unforgettable “13-second” loss in the divisional round to Patrick Mahomes and Co.
Joey Bosa didn’t address the media after his concerning reaction in the tunnel. However, Dion Dawkins did, or let’s just say, at least he tried.
After Joey Bosa’s reaction, Dion Dawkins breaks down emotionally over Josh Allen’s statement
The harrowing end to the AFC divisional round game against Denver is weighing heavily on Josh Allen’s team. The costly pass interference call in overtime helped the Broncos reach the Bills’ end zone, leading to a game-sealing field goal. Now, regrets and emotions are spilling over, with offensive lineman Dion Dawkins having a full-blown public breakdown.

The video making the rounds on social media caught him teary-eyed as he struggled to face the camera. He just looked down and spoke a few words before turning away.
“He didn’t let us down,” Dawkins said as he was evidently tearing down.
For context, he was reacting to Josh Allen’s bold statement that moved his teammates and players alike. During the post-game conference, the 2024 MVP pinned the blame on himself for his team’s underperformance against the Broncos.
“It’s extremely difficult,” he said. “Feel like I let my teammates down tonight.”
His words probably stemmed from the costly mistakes on Saturday, where he posted four interceptions, including the overtime turnover. Then, there was another crucial one on a rushing play right before halftime. While there’s no denying that these mistakes helped the Broncos to take advantage, Allen was certainly not at the heart of the overall failure.
He completed 25 of 39 passes while throwing for 283 yards. His 3,668-yard seasonal performance powered the Bills’ offense all year, keeping them among the top offenses in both regular and postseason rankings. No wonder his teammates are rallying behind the quarterback as their team reels from its seventh consecutive playoff loss. Now, the team heads into the offseason to find answers that could end its playoff curse.
