The Baltimore Ravens defeated Russell Wilson‘s Pittsburgh Steelers in the wild-card game and will now be heading to the divisional round. And though every fan of Steelers and Ravens must have left the seat of M&T Bank Stadium, their minds have not! A clear example of that is Baltimore’s mayor. The way he has taken a dig at Russell Wilson’s wife is crazy and making headlines.

Baltimore’s mayor, Brandon Scott, posted an Instagram reel a while after the Ravens-Steelers game. What was in? It pictured a transition of some shots from the game and his friends. Brandon Scott was dressed up like a true fan of Ravens Nation with a big logo of the franchise on the chest. But where’s the dig? The twist lies in the fact that the mayor posted that reel with Ciara‘s song, ‘1,2 Step (feat. Missy Elliott)’, in the background. Ciara, a singer-songwriter, is the wife of Steelers QB, Russell Wilson.

Man, that’s crazy! The mayor has just trolled and roasted the Steelers,  especially their QB and his wife. And if that’s not enough, his caption was even more hilarious. The song name is 1,2 Step and what did Baltimore’s mayor wrote in the caption for that reel? “Lamar is automatic supersonic. Or Lamar is hypnotic funky fresh or whatever @ciara said. Baltimore 1, 2 stepping into the next round.” Straight to the heart and mind!

The game is over but fans aren’t done going crazy! The division rivalry was so fierce that the Ravens fans couldn’t help but rub it in! But what does the future hold for Russell Wilson? The 35-year-old quarterback who has been in the league for the last 13 years and won one Super Bowl has dropped a clear update about his future in the NFL.

Will Russell Wilson be a Steeler next season?

Russell Wilson spent 10 years with the Seattle Seahawks where he won his lone Super Bowl ring. Then he played for the Denver Broncos for two years before signing a $1.21 million one-year deal with the Steelers this year. That’s a long journey! The media was keen to ask him about his future in the NFL.

Firstly Wilson shared his disappointment at the loss. He said, “There are always highs and lows. More importantly, I believe in the guys that we have and the mentality. We came into this game believing we could win it, but they made more significant plays than we did… that’s a disappointing part. But the best part about the game was guys didn’t give up.”  Then one of the reporters asked him whether he’d be playing the next season with the Steelers.

Russell Wilson was honest in his reply, stating, “I don’t know. I’m not going into all that. I think people at the top know more.” He added, “More than anything though we gotta keep the belief, gotta keep the heart, keep the fan bases special,” and continued to talk about how they are great teammates.

So the 35-year-old Wilson may return to the league as a Steeler or in different colors. But as he knows, the league is a business also apart from a showcase for footballing talent. He also may not.
