This NFL season has seen us see all kinds of injuries to key players, from hamstring pulls to concussions to serious knee and hip injuries. That’s the NFL for you—these injuries can keep players out for weeks, sometimes even months. Lately, Vikings’ RB Aaron Jones injured himself during the game against the Jaguars. The Vikings won 12-7, but fans got worried when the 29-year-old got carted off the field.

The silver lining was that the RB’s injury wasn’t too serious. After the game, the RB revealed why he had been carted off the field. On the Up & Adams show, talking to Kay Adams, Jones said, “The only reason I got carted off was because the X-ray machine was on the other side of the stadium.” Ah! What a relief for the Vikings fans.

The RB suffered a chest injury during the third quarter of the game. He took a tough hit from Ventrell Miller, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ linebacker. After the hit, Jones was seen on the ground, clutching his chest. It was pretty concerning to see Jones carted off, especially since he’s such a key player in the Vikings’ offense. The Vikings have been a surprise this season, and Jones has played a huge part in their success.

So he had to hop in the cart to get the X-rays done, just to make sure nothing was broken. As he said that at first, he thought he’d cracked something. After the X-ray results came back clear, Jones was back on the field. He wrapped up the game with 101 yards from scrimmage, managing 19 touches in total. He kept grinding through the game despite the injury scare. The RB carried the ball 17 times for 88 yards and also made two catches for 13 yards.

But will he be able to huddle up for the upcoming game?

Will Aaron Jones take the field in the upcoming Titans game?

After the incident, the big question is whether Aaron Jones will be good to go for the game against the Titans. Well, it seems like he should be fine by next Sunday. With the X-ray coming back clean, it seems like it was just a precautionary move, so there’s a good chance he’ll be ready to suit up for the Titans game. However, if he keeps dealing with injuries, it could spell trouble for the Vikings. The former Green Bay Packers player had a hip injury in Week 5 against the Jets, earlier this season.

In the worst-case scenario, if the Vikings have to play without Jones, they would need to rely on Cam Akers and Ty Chandler to fill the gap. Losing Jones would certainly be a tough blow for the offense. Akers, who’s mostly been backing up Jones, had to step in for a bit during the last game until Jones was able to return. Given how crucial Jones is to the squad, it’s clear the Vikings primarily rely on him only.

So far, Cam Akers has rushed 46 times for 193 yards, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. He has scored 1 touchdown. Chandler hasn’t been a huge contributor yet, but he’s getting his reps. He’s rushed the ball 44 times for 211 yards, averaging around 4.8 yards per carry.

Right now, Vikings fans are hoping Aaron Jones stays healthy and in top shape so that their playoff dreams stay alive.
