Will Aaron Rodgers finally find a new home? At 41, he’s had his fair share of breakups, and not the quiet kind. Back in 2021, former cornerback Richard Sherman said Rodgers had been “getting disrespected by Green Bay for a while.” Then came the drama with the New York Jets. After his release, the four-time MVP admitted he felt slighted again, this time pointing fingers at coach Aaron Glenn. “If they want to move on…You could have told me this on the phone if we weren’t even going to have a conversation,” Rodgers said after being asked to fly across the country only to be told he was being let go in person.
And now, after all the noise about whether he’ll land with the Pittsburgh Steelers or not, fresh hints have started to surface. But the twist? It all came just as Aaron Glenn threw yet another jab at the veteran QB this past Wednesday. At practice, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn was asked about Aaron Rodgers. As expected, he sidestepped the question and shifted the spotlight to Justin Fields, while possibly throwing shade at Rodgers.
Glenn said, “I take to [Fields] because he is authentic and he is himself. There is one thing that players can pick out, and that is someone who is fake. There is nothing about him that is fake. So I love everything about the player [and] I love everything about the way he carries himself.” Ouch! Was that a not-so-subtle jab at Rodgers? Maybe. And if the 41-year-old heard it, it sure looks like he did, because now, he’s fired up, with that familiar look of revenge in his eyes.

In a recent sit-down with Mike Stud in Austin, Aaron Rodgers might’ve just dropped a subtle hint about his next move, and Steelers fans are buzzing. When asked if he’d ever suit up for the Bears, Rodgers smirked and said, “I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year on a road trip.” That’s the clue.

The Steelers are scheduled to play in Chicago this season. The Saints are, too, but Rodgers hasn’t been linked to New Orleans like he has with Mike Tomlin‘s squad this spring. So, is he teasing a future with Pittsburgh? Maybe. At this point, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before he makes it official.
But then again, another report has people questioning if he’s just playing games, as reportedly, Mike Tomlin has a replacement ready.
What’s your perspective on:
Could Aaron Rodgers' move to the Steelers finally bring him the respect he deserves?
Have an interesting take?
If not Aaron Rodgers, then who?
Mike Tomlin’s Steelers are still holding out hope for Aaron Rodgers. He’s their guy, no question. But just in case he doesn’t sign, they’ve got a backup in mind – Kirk Cousins. Yeah, that guy. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the team’s quietly been watching him. If Rodgers says no or drags things out, Pittsburgh might just call Atlanta and see what’s possible.

Now, Cousins has had a tough run of late. After that Achilles tear in 2023, he signed a $180 million deal with the Falcons. But things didn’t click. He got benched in Week 16. A rookie took over. And since then, the trade rumors haven’t stopped. The Falcons might be ready to move on. And the Steelers? They’re keeping that door open. But here’s the catch-time’s ticking.
OTAs are starting, and mandatory minicamp kicks off June 10. Pittsburgh needs answers. If Rodgers stays silent or leans toward retirement, they won’t wait forever. They’ll shift gears. Cousins might not be the dream. But if Rodgers walks away, he could be the next best option. And honestly? It wouldn’t be a total shock. His name’s been linked to the Steelers before. It won’t be a fairytale ending, but it might just work.
