While the rest of the league was chasing training camp glory and preseason predictions, 49ers QB Brock Purdy was handling something deeply personal. When the QB missed the training camp on Friday, questions lingered even though the team cited ‘personal reasons’ for his absence. But in a recent reveal, he has finally shared the reason why he had to take a break from the training camp grind. His family of two has officially upgraded to three with the addition of their daughter, Millie Joleen Purdy.

After the break on Friday, Purdy returned to the camp. After the session, HC Kyle Shanahan shared the news with everyone, “Brock has some family stuff yesterday, all good news.” Shanahan even highlighted that Purdy “didn’t miss a beat” when he came back. With the arrival of his daughter, and first child, Purdy will have an even greater drive to chase the gridiron glory and 49ers’ expectations this season. But for now, ‘dad’ Purdy has a lot bigger things to celebrate.

Brock Purdy’s wife Jenna Purdy made it official with an IG post. Sharing a black-and-white picture of herself, Brock and Millie, she wrote, “Millie Joleen Purdy🩷 Life just became a whole lot sweeter.” Starting from a love story rooted in their freshman days at Iowa State University back in 2018, the couple has mostly kept their cards close regarding their personal lives. Their relationship first became public back in November 2022. And not long after, the couple got engaged back in July 2023. They made it official last offseason, tying the knot in March 2024. Now, their story comes full circle with the addition of little Millie Joleen.

No one knew the couple were expecting a child. Jenna has notably stayed away from her socials for more than 12 weeks now. Still, the news almost broke when 49ers’ backup TE Mason Pine dropped a big hint. In an interview with Larry Krueger, Pine talked about Purdy’s brand endorsements and notably said, “He’s got a baby on the way. So, I’m sure that’s on the back burner.” But now, Jenna has made it official. And as the post gathered momentum, the whole league came together to pour in their congratulations.

After Jenna shared the joint post with Purdy, the comments exploded with a mix of surprise and love. The teammates already knew the Purdys were expecting Millie. The surprise was for the rest of the world. Naturally, the first ones to show their support and love were the Niners crew. Linebacker Fred Warner kept it simple with a “🙏🏾🙏🏾.” His wife, Sydney Warner added, “Sweet Millie!! 🥹💗💕 congratulations guys 🙏🏽” And this was only the beginning of the love from all the people who showed up.

Niners fullback Kyle Juszczyk added his own “Congratulations!” Veteran TE George Kittle also kept it simple with a “Mom and Dad!” But his wife, Claire Kittle added an even more heartfelt “She’s a lucky girl!!!!! ❤️ I love her name so much” Purdy’s fam wasn’t far behind either.

His brother, Chubba Purdy also joined the celebrations, writing “I love ya’ll god bless you!” Even the Jets RB Breece Hall chimed with a short and sweet “❤️congrats!!!” One fan finally realized, along with the rest of the NFL squad, why Brock missed the training camp on Friday, on July 25. They wrote, “Now we know why he missed practice for personal reasons. ❤️ Congrats Purdy family 🙏🏼🙏🏼”

But the best comment tied it all together, referencing Purdy’s teammate Christian McAffrey, who also welcomed his daughter Colette just two weeks ago. “@brock.purdy13 and @christianmccaffrey about to go OFF this season becoming girl daddy’s… I’m a disaster town over this. 🥹😭🥰 Welcome to the family Millie girl! Bang bang baby! ❤️💛”

While the entire league celebrates Millie’s arrival, the Niner Nation knows their QB1 has all the more reason to ball out and bring home that Super Bowl ring this season. After all, he now has the two best cheerleaders rooting for him on the sidelines: Jenna and Millie.
