QB Dak Prescott turned heads with his impressive basketball skills. Additionally, Prescott has the potential to become the highest-paid player in NFL history once he enters free agency. His free agency deal might eclipse Joe Burrow’s five-year, $275 million contract signed last offseason, setting a new benchmark in the league.

He was spotted, sinking shot after shot. On 15th June the highlight was shared by none other than world-record-holding NBA coach Chris Matthews, aka ‘Lethal Shooter’ on Instagram. Prescott’s skills blew Matthews away, who posted a video and several pictures of him with his number 4 jersey.

Matthews’s caption said, “Dak Prescott can shoot the basketball,” and encouraged him to keep doing his thing and stay focused. Dak appreciated the shout-out and reposted the video on his Instagram story, expressing,Yesssir! Appreciate the Heat.”

Appreciation from the 2022 NBA All-Star record holder is a big deal. His record of hitting 23 out of 25 balls in just 66 seconds places him above some of the greatest NBA shooting legends, including Larry Bird. Ex Washington State and St. Bonaventure player transitioned from player to coach. Chris made a name for himself by coaching players like Kevin Séraphin and Dwight Howard. He said, “If you want to get better, it’s okay to have someone teach you how. Because no person is perfect”.

Chris’s admiration came for Prescott when his future with the Cowboys is uncertain. Owner Jerry Jones is holding it close to his chest whether he will resign the QB or not.

Dak Prescott’s possibility of free agency

With the talks about his new contract, in limbo, there is a possibility that Prescott might be a free agent after this season. He stated, “I’m not going to say I fear being here or not. I don’t fear either situation, to be candid with you.” Expressing his state of mind for the team.

Though Prescott shared clarity, the team has decided on the QB’s contract extension according to Jeremy Fowler’s statement, “The Dallas Cowboys are all-in on re-signing Dak Prescott, eventually. I’m told behind the scenes they’ve made clear they don’t want him to hit free agency in 2025.”

The Cowboys’ commitment to re-signing him suggests they aim to see him as a cornerstone of the franchise for a long time.  While Dak Prescott shows his versatility in basketball, we hope this season is a slam dunk for him..
