Addie Deal’s father is Danny Deal. He is from Oklahoma, and standing tall at 6’5″, he’s a former athlete who played NAIA ball at Spring Hill College. Danny is married to Addie’s mom, Ashley, and the couple has two children. Addie has an elder brother, Tanner. who is currently studying at Grinnell College. Danny is known to be supportive of her daughter’s basketball career and wants her to excel in the sport so much so that now he is even considering settling down in the Midwest, leaving their home in California.

Deal sustained a season-ending ankle injury during the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona in December 2023. The injury sidelined Deal for four months, ending her junior season, but she was back on the court for her senior season, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of her family, who stood beside her like a rock. Both Danny and Ashley Deal are Americans, hailing from the West Coast. Ashley Deal grew up in California and also happens to be the first native Californian to be part of the Iowa roster since 2001.

Inside Addie Deal’s Relationship with her parents
Addie Deal shares a close bond with both her parents and her elder brother Tanner. Deal adores her older brother, who also plays basketball for Grinnell.
As a matter of fact, it was Addie’s elder brother who had inspired her to take up basketball. Growing up, she played ball with her brother and other friends, where she was the sole girl in the group. She followed him to Iowa in a way.
“We were always super close. So, when he was going to play basketball, I said, ‘Tanner, I want to come with you,’ and that was that. There was no looking back from that point onwards,” she said during an interview with the OC Catholic.

The family had already made plans to relocate to Iowa to be close to their daughter back in August. So, they could potentially attend their daughter’s upcoming games throughout her college career.
