“I always want to push myself to be the best I can,” Deal said. “Running is something that’s a mentality. You definitely have to work on it. But I’m not going to lose a race if I can win it,” and that is the winning mentality that Ohio State got a taste of as they lost their 7-game winning streak against the Hawkeyes.

Inside Addie Deal’s Relationship with her parents 

Addie Deal shares a close bond with both her parents and her elder brother Tanner. Deal adores her older brother, who also plays basketball for Grinnell.

As a matter of fact, it was Addie’s elder brother who had inspired her to take up basketball. Growing up, she played ball with her brother and other friends, where she was the sole girl in the group. She followed him to Iowa in a way.

“We were always super close. So, when he was going to play basketball, I said, ‘Tanner, I want to come with you,’ and that was that. There was no looking back from that point onwards,” she said during an interview with the OC Catholic.

The family had already made plans to relocate to Iowa to be close to their daughter back in August. So, they could potentially attend their daughter’s upcoming games throughout her college career.
