While the Mannings’ name has made waves in college football for generations, Arch Manning usually dominates the headlines this season. Who are Peyton Manning’s two kids?
Peyton married Tennessee native Ashley Thompson, and the couple welcomed fraternal twins, son Marshall and daughter Mosley, in 2011. At the time, Peyton was making waves in the NFL, but he credited his family’s support as the main force behind his success. “My entire family keeps me positive and they always support me… Without them, I would not be where I am today. I am very grateful,” said Peyton in 2014 ahead of his third Super Bowl.

Moreover, according to the professor of the College of Communication and Information at Tennessee, the twins arrived at just the right time. “I think about the year they were born, and all that was going on with my injuries, and it was the ultimate blessing in disguise,” said Peyton. “They came into my life at the time I needed them the most.” And literally, Marshall and Mosley have been by his side from press conferences to retirement announcements. But their presence wasn’t just for fun, as the Tennessee legend stated they helped to shape his perspective.
“Marshall and Mosley have only been around for a couple of years, but they have changed my life forever…” said Peyton. “We’re going to teach them to enjoy the little things in life because one day they’ll realize those really were the big things.”
Now, while his son, Marshall Manning, is making a name for himself as a QB at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, his twin sister, Mosley, matches that energy, juggling multiple sports. In short, athleticism clearly runs deep in this family.

More about Marshall Manning
Born in Indianapolis, Marshall grew up in the shadow of football greatness. While Peyton Manning’s legacy looms large, Marshall has carved his own path. Marshall chose “J. Allen” on his flag football jersey instead of the name “Manning” as a big fan of Patrick Mahomes. Consider that, Peyton joked, “Tell me how to interpret that, and would you please tell him that’s not a nice way to treat his father?” But Peyton has been there every step from statring.

From the 2016 AFC Championship to Super Bowl 50, Marshall tagged along to practices and tossed the pigskin with Peyton’s teammates. Even after his father retired, Marshall stayed close to the game as he went to see games. Besides, they’ve shared father-son sideline trips, Pro Bowl warmups, and commercials highlighting Marshall’s early exposure to the sport.
While Peyton has given Marshall more than memories, he’s already turning heads as an eighth-grader at The Baylor School. The class of 2030 QB has the talent to be one of the nation’s top recruits. But the path won’t be easy. If Marshall heads to Tennessee, he’ll constantly be compared to Peyton. Thus any early struggles could invite national scrutiny, just like Arch faced this season at Texas.
Still, considering Peyton’s contribution, Vols fans are dreaming Marshall will follow in his dad’s footsteps to Knoxville.

More about Mosely Manning
“My kids are playing flag football and soccer, so I go to those practices and games,” said Peyton. “It’s important to me to be a part of those and to be around.” Though Mosley doesn’t play football, she’s immersed in sports, playing tennis, volleyball, and softball. But Mosley left an impression on her dad even as a toddler.
During Peyton’s 2016 retirement speech, he recalled her asking before his Super Bowl 50, “Daddy, is this the last game ever?” The NFL legend laughed, stating, “I shook my head in amazement… thinking, ‘Mort and Adam Schefter had gotten to my 5-year-old daughter to cultivate a new source.'” Besides, Peyton makes her a part of life’s big moments off the field, joining him at the 2015 ESPY Awards after he won Best Record-Breaking Performance.
