A seismic season is rounding off. Although, officially, it hasn’t ended yet, the colossal craze has shifted to the crazy transfer portal news. Every other day, one or more big athletes announce their decision to change schools, shaking off the roster. From Bryce Underwood to Beau Pribula, the list stretches long. Another highly touted player on the move is Eric Singleton Jr, a former Georgia Tech Wide Receiver. Ever since he hit the portal on December 9, a lot of eyeballs from the top SEC schools tried to dazzle his brain. The kid narrowed down his list to the most plausible top 5: Miami, LSU, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Texas. As the latest intel depicts, the Tigers have been ahead of the remaining four.

The Auburn Tigers are already pulling in some big names in the portal, leading their portal class rank to the prestigious No. 4 in the country. Hugh Freeze isn’t just sitting back and letting the talents slip out of his reach. His constant grit and effort swooped in Jackson Arnold, a former five-star recruit who spent last season at Oklahoma. That said, they still haven’t added any wide receiver via the portal, and the scuttlebutt says they are waiting for their first one, as Singleton is scheduled to visit Auburn on Wednesday.
Adding more value to it, Auburn insider Jeffery Lee noted, ”I think we’re getting to the backstretch in his recruitment. I really feel like he is closing on a decision. Some sources I’ve talked to, I think maybe Thursday would be a target date to keep an eye on as far as making a decision.”
Singleton had a prolific figure of the yellow jackets. As a freshman, he took no time to leave an impact and led the team to a total of 712 receiving yards in 12 games. This year, the stat reached 754 yards. Singleton initially committed to Western Kentucky in 2023. He flipped to Auburn before settling in Georgia Tech and mounting an incredible year.
”We’ll see you know with the portal it changes by the hour, but you know there was. I think it’s definitely going to happen sooner than later. Everybody that I’ve talked to expects a decision by the end of this week,” Lee defined the probable timeline for the Tigers to nab the top-rated receiver.
Eric Singleton Jr big NIL value might disband many schools from his path
Here comes a twist in the story. The latest reports revealed Singleton Jr. may command a whooping of $1 Million as NIL money to be landed. If it’s true, then Ole Miss might not agree with his demands.
Eric Singleton Jr. is a second-to-none player, and he has every right to clear his worth before taking it to the final stage. In the modern era of transferring, NIL has been instrumental. So, it would not be surprising if the figure turns out to be true. But the problem is, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin possesses a different philosophy on that. Kiffin doesn’t like vesting much money in one single position to keep a balance.
With a handful of talented wide receivers in the portal, Lane Kiffin believes he can nab players at the position without spending a lot from the NIL bank. He did so while bringing in De’Zhaun Stribling from Oklahoma State. He even had a better start than Singleton. So, the rest, you know.
Good news for the Tigers!
