After a major coaching change in the offensive staff, Ohio State looks to build the top offense in the country. To carry the momentum to the future class, Ryan Day reportedly extended an offer to a top QB’s brother from the 2028 class.

Westview QB and Ty Simpson’s brother, Graham Simpson, received an offer from Ohio State on January 29, according to the post on the sophomore’s X account. He is the No. 5-ranked player in Tennessee from the 2028 recruitment class and is the tenth-best quarterback prospect nationally.

Graham Simpson completed a historic season at Westview, leading the program to the second TSSAA football state championship, and rolled out a 62-21 win over Gatlinburg-Pittman to win the Class 3A BlueCross Bowl Title.

He also broke multiple state records in a championship game in the 63-point effort. He set the longest touchdown pass record, a bomb that was taken for 99 yards to the endzone. He also had the record for the most passing yards at 566 yards. Graham tied the record for the most touchdown passes, recording seven. Last year, he held the state record, passing 620 yards in a single game, which earned him the Tennessee Titans’ Mr. Football award.

The 5-foot-11.5, 180-pounder, throughout the season, completed 194 of 256 passes, throwing 3,565 yards for 43 touchdowns and three interceptions. He was also named the All-West Tennessee player of the year for the second straight time. In the two seasons he played for Westview, he has recorded 7,700 passing yards and 100 touchdowns.

Memphis was the first school to offer Graham a scholarship in May 2024. However, he now has 20 offers from top schools across the country, most notably Alabama (his brother Ty’s alma mater), Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Auburn, and Mississippi State, among other schools.

With multiple schools already providing tough competition for the 2028 top-tier QB, it would be quite challenging for Ryan Day’s Ohio State. However, Simpson is not the only QB Day offered in the 2028 class.

Ohio State has offered seven quarterbacks for the 2028 class, including Graham Simpson. Among them, Jayden Wade committed to Georgia. However, they still keep the contention tight on the four-star QBs Christopher Vargas and Neimann Lawrence and three-star targets Trey Towns Jr. and Graham.

Among them, Christopher Vargas, the four-star QB prospect from St. John’s Preparatory School, could be a massive addition for the Buckeyes. Vargas had one of the best performances of the season in St. John’s Preparatory’s 47-21 victory over Central Catholic, completing 18 of 24 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns. Yet, he has several offers from Power-4 schools, including Boston College, Georgia, Penn State, Syracuse, and others.

On the other hand, Neimann Lawrence is obviously the top-tier target for the 2028 class. The 6-foot-5 is in the top three QBs in the country and is the fourth overall prospect within the state of Florida. The sophomore already holds 28 offers from top schools across the country, including Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Georgia, and others.
