2024 has indeed been a tough year for the Ole Miss Rebels head coach, Lane Kiffin. The Rebels ended up allowing a good chunk of sacks—tied for 81st nationally at 2.23 per game. And those College Football Playoff dreams? They just didn’t pan out, with the Rebels finishing 10-3. On top of that, he took a huge personal hit, losing his dad, the legendary Monte Kiffin, who was his rock. Of course, he’s got his sweet kids—two daughters, Landry and Presley, and his son, Knox—who are his world. But you could tell there was still something missing….His wife Layla.
Well, fast forward to 2025, and it looks like the love gods have been kind. Turns out Lane and Layla have patched things up, put a ring on it, and are writing their own ‘happily ever after’ story.’

Lane and Layla Kiffin’s sweet comeback story
Kiffin and Layla were married for 12 years. She is the daughter of former NFL quarterback John Reaves. Later on, Layla took up a job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Back there, she became acquainted with Monte Kiffin, the Bucs’ defensive coordinator. This gave rise to Kiffn’s acquaintance with her, and the two started dating shortly after meeting in 1999. Courting each other for five years, the couple finally got married in 2004 when Kiffin served as the assistant coach at USC. However, the lovey-dovey romance did not last long. The couple called it quits, going for a divorce on February 28, 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. But gone are those days. Layla and Kiffin thought of giving love a second chance.
Stepping into this new chapter and getting that spark back, they were probably thinking about when they were young and totally in love. Back when getting a ring felt like the natural next step. Just the other day, Kiffin put up an IG story that had everyone saying, ‘Awww.’ Now, he’s dropped a post hinting that this isn’t just a fleeting IG story thing, but something permanent for his feed. The picture was a bunch of fun moments from their concert trips, with Kiffin doing the heart hands and Layla playfully crossing her fingers in the background. And how could we miss the ring on their French-manicured middle finger? The three-word caption said it all: “Ride or die ♥️.”

So, finally, it’s official! After all, the buzz of Kiffin and Layla’s patch-up has been going on for quite a while now. Last December, Layla and their son, Knox, relocated to Oxford. Then came Landry’s 20th birthday bash, where Kiffin’s lady love was spotted in every picture, all smiles and sitting next to her ex-hubby. And way back in March, Kiffin kind of hinted at things getting back on track on his IG story when Layla was checking out their “home” at Ole Miss while slaying some sequined jeans. The Ole Miss HC wrote, “🏠💙❤️@olemissfb.” So, the Rebels fans can finally stop playing the guessing game. Meanwhile, Layla and Kiffin can now spend their time feeling proud of how well they have brought up their kids.

Lane Kiffin’s kids are growing up fast
To start with, the eldest of Kiffin and Layla’s kids, Landry, chose to carve out her own path. She did not follow the Kiffin legacy, choosing sports. Rather, the 20-year-old is pursuing her bachelor’s in business administration in real estate at Ole Miss. Meanwhile, Kiffin’s 16-year-old son has already started to follow in dad’s footsteps. In January, Knox landed his fourth college football offer.
Last December, the proud dad posted a story of his son on his IG that showed Knox busy in his practice drills for the high school football team. Even though he is a prospect for the class of 2028, Knox already has suitors swarming around him. This year, the Palos Verdes High School freshman landed an offer from Georgia State University. Before that, SMU Mustangs’ QB coach, D’Eriq King, handed Knox a lucrative scholarship offer. This was followed by Arkansas State’s offer. Western Kentucky also has its eyes fixed on Kiffin’s son. Now what about Presley?

Chasing her dreams, Lane Kiffin’s younger daughter will have to make a big sacrifice. The 18-year-old has committed to the USC Trojans’ women’s volleyball team. With this, she will be living 1,887 miles away from her parents and siblings. Definitely, the Ole Miss HC is sad, but he is proud at the same time. Makes sense she’d want to check out her dad’s old stomping grounds—Kiffin was calling the plays at USC back in ’05 and ’06. Lane Kiffin’s comeback story now features a strong team off the field: Layla and their three shining stars.
