According to On3’s insider, Pete Nakos’ report, Florida’s WR Muizz Tounkara from the 2025 class announced his entry into the transfer portal.

Tounkara is a 3-star recruit of the 2025 class, just finished his first season with the Gators. The WR appeared in eight games, playing on offense and on special teams. He snapped six out of eight games, receiving 2 times for 12 yards, including a four-yard reception against Long Island, and an eight-yard reception against LSU.

The 6-foot-3, 208-pounder is a Texas native, attended high school at Clear Springs High School, League City, TX. He was a multi-sport specialist who also ran track as a sophomore in relay. He played both as a WR and CB, and graduated with 79 receptions for 946 yards and 10 touchdowns, and 4 kick returns. He was the No. 73-ranked wide receiver in the country and the No. 74 prospect in Texas.

As a high school prospect, he had 29 offers from top schools, including Arizona, Wisconsin, California, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, Utah, Purdue, and more. Among these, he initially announced his commitment to the Arizona Wildcats, but flipped his pledge to join the Gators. But, unfortunately, it was his only season in Gainesville.

Jon Sumrall releases Jabbar Juluke from Florida

Ever since Jon Sumrall became Florida’s head coach, he has been keen on breaking ties in the coaching staff. This made him let go of Florida’s running backs coach Jabbar Juluke moments after releasing Billy Gonzales. Juluke served as the associate head coach under the previous coach, Billy Napier.

On3’s Pete Nakos wrote on X, “Sources tell @On3sports that Florida running backs coach Jabbar Juluke is not being retained on Jon Sumrall’s staff.”

The RB coach has been with Florida for the last four years and was one of the state’s top recruiters. He helped develop Montrell Johnson Jr., Trevor Etienne, Ja’Kobi Jackson, and Jadan Baugh, who emerged as top running backs in the SEC during his tenure

His departure marks another step in reassembling the coaching staff and letting go of the coaching ties, which he made clear in his introductory speech with the coaching staff.

“I don’t hire staff who are my buddies,” Sumrall told Florida staff. “I hire a staff based upon what is the absolute best group of people we can put together to serve and develop our players and win championships at that place.”

The back-to-back release of the coaching staff seemingly hints at a complete shift in the leadership at Gainesville for a successful tenure.
