This isn’t the first time Jalen Milroe’s draft stock has zigzagged a meager nine days before the NFL Draft. But as the saying goes, ‘The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking spaces.’ One scout previously believed that Alabama’s QB’s “ceiling is too high to ignore.” While others idled, Milroe stayed moving. His mix of raw athleticism, untapped arm talent, and vocal leadership continues to draw the attention of front offices. Particularly with this $7.3B franchise with massive war chests and a few unsolved mysteries under center. Now, with the clock ticking down to Green Bay, the saga around Milroe takes a new, eyebrow-raising twist.

NFL insiders have confirmed that one storied franchise in the Northeast has been busy behind the scenes. Hosting a slew of quarterback workouts this spring. First came Louisville’s Tyler Shough. Then came Jalen Milroe. Quietly, the NY Giants are doing their homework—and they’re doing it aggressively. And that alone changes the calculus for teams hoping Milroe would fall to Day 2.

This development collided with a bombshell from ESPN’s Peter Schrager, who shared a live update on The Pat McAfee Show. “I spoke to a GM who I really trust and is really good,” Schrager said, leaning into the moment. “And he’s like, ‘Well, if you’re looking for the best pure thrower of the ball, it’s Tyler Shough out of Louisville.’ And I’m like, ‘Tyler Shough?’ And I’m looking at my list, and I’m looking at this list on your board, and there are several other names, and Tyler Shough is not one of them.” But the real twist came next.

Schrager revealed a second conversation with another GM, and this one revolved around Jalen Milroe. “I could easily see Milroe going late first,” the GM told him. “That’s the kind of deal where you have a starter already, and then you put Milroe in for some subset packages, and then two, three years—who knows—Jalen Milroe is your guy. And he’s been learning for a year. And of course, he can run the ball. He ran a 4.3 40 at his Pro Day, and he’s got an awesome arm. And he’s a winner. And he’s about it. Like, he is a great, great leader.” Schrager wasn’t forecasting chaos. He was simply echoing what league circles have been buzzing about behind closed doors. The league is split. Milroe’s rawness is a red flag for some. For others, it’s just more clay to mold.

Jalen Milroe’s rise hasn’t been without its hiccups. And now, with the Draft spotlight on full beam, the conversation has shifted. He’s no longer a fringe prospect with freaky athletic traits. He’s a viable long-term investment. Especially for teams with patient timelines and veteran stopgaps already in place. Enter the Giants once more…..

They’ve already held a private workout with Jaxson Dart and have reportedly worked out Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, too. Jordan Raanan confirmed that “Dart, Sanders, Milroe and Shough [are] quarterbacks to watch,” and noted that private workouts are a key pillar of Brian Daboll’s quarterback scouting process. It tracks. The Giants added Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson this offseason—two veterans who can mentor, insulate, and take snaps while a young signal-caller develops behind the scenes. Milroe fits that developmental arc perfectly. If he’s not a Week 1 starter, he might just be the answer come 2026.

Meanwhile, Milroe isn’t just visiting one team. He’s going to be a very busy man for now. The 4.37 speed is real. The cannon arm is undeniable. And the leadership, as Schrager emphasized, is one of the intangibles teams are betting on. We’re a week out, and Jalen Milroe’s name is being whispered in late-first circles.

Jalen Milroe heads west—Seahawks & Rams take a closer look

Jalen Milroe’s pre-draft tour is heating up—and this week, he’s taking his talents to the West Coast.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Milroe visited the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday and is scheduled to meet with the LA Rams later this week. The Alabama standout continues to generate interest as a dynamic developmental prospect, even if he’s not expected to go in the top tier of quarterbacks.

Seattle already made a move at QB by signing Sam Darnold to a three-year deal and bringing in Drew Lock as a backup. But Milroe could still be an intriguing long-term option for the Seahawks, giving them a dual-threat QB to groom behind veterans.

Down in L.A., the Rams still roll with Matthew Stafford, but let’s be honest—at 37 and playing through wear and tear, it’s starting to feel like a year-to-year arrangement. Still, Rams head coach Sean McVay tried to downplay the buzz, saying during the league meeting. “It’s unlikely the club would draft a QB early… I haven’t done a whole lot of work on the quarterbacks.” The smokescreens are in full effect. But Milroe’s name keeps popping up.
