Jalen Milroe kept Alabama’s playoff dreams alive, but a few tough losses to Vanderbilt and Vols raised doubts about his ‘miracle kid’ status. At Bama, Milroe thrived in a controlled environment, but now the stakes are sky high. And the Senior Bowl is his moment to shine and prove he can handle the pressure of the NFL. No room for mistakes. Early scouting reports called out his struggles—he had a tough time pushing the ball downfield and held onto it too long, causing the pocket to collapse. So, accuracy and interceptions were also a concern. But now, the spotlight is on Milroe, and it’s time for him to prove he’s the real deal.

Milroe is the hot topic in Mobile ahead of the 2025 Senior Bowl. But not all the chatter is helping his NFL draft stock. While Todd McShay gave a positive review, he didn’t shy away from the issues. “Jalen Milroe is a phenomenal athlete. He’ll shine in the game on Saturday, thanks to his ability to extend plays. In an all-star game, there’s often miscommunication and mobile quarterbacks can erase a lot of those problems,” McShay said on his podcast. So, Milroe’s athleticism is off the charts, but cleaning up his game is key.

And now, an unexpected $518M announcement has the potential to shake up Milroe’s future. On a recent YouTube podcast, McShay dropped a surprising comparison, drawing parallels between Milroe and two NFL stars. “I just remind everyone—Lamar Jackson wasn’t a great passer coming out of Louisville. He just wasn’t Josh Allen, even with that rocket arm. He didn’t even complete 60% of his throws.” McShay explained.

Despite similar passing woes, Jackson and Allen were drafted, with Jackson later signing a $260M contract and Allen securing a $258M deal —Milroe’s cut from the same cloth. So, this announcement could be the game-changer Milroe needs to rewrite his NFL story. Because if you talk about mobility, the QB has 2,844 yards, and 16 TDs on 64.3% of his passes this season. But there’s still something unclear about the QB’s position in NFL teams as per analysts.

Could Jalen Milroe play a different position in the 2025 NFL draft?

To clear up Jalen Milroe’s NFL future, McShay turned to two big names—Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. Allen, now with the Buffalo Bills, and Jackson, leading the Baltimore Ravens, both faced similar doubts early in their careers. But Milroe’s NFL destination? That’s still up in the air. However, before the 2025 NFL Draft in April, don’t look for teams to ask Milroe to overhaul anything.

But Milroe has recently been asked to switch positions by NFL teams. Lamar Jackson, in a June 2018 interview, revealed that a Los Angeles Chargers scout once asked him if he’d consider working out as a WR during the scouting combine. But with Milroe, ESPN’s Field Yates doesn’t expect teams to make the same request.

Milroe’s unique skill set as a quarterback is too valuable for teams to overlook—he’s ready to stay under center and prove himself. And following that, Yates stated, “We’re all-in on QB for Jalen Milroe. I understand why people ask these questions. It’s a natural one to ask since he might be as fast as any running back he’s on the same field with this afternoon. But it’s all been quarterback-focused for Jalen.”

Accordingly, Milroe will play quarterback if he is selected by any NFL team. In the second round, Tankathon claims that the Las Vegas Raiders will select him with selection No. 37. Let’s see where the quarterback wants to play in the NFL.
