Well, Deion Sanders didn’t just change Boulder’s vibe—he flipped the entire script. Folks may say he brought culture, yes, but he also built a strong team that muscled its way from a 4-8 record to an impressive 9-4 season. With his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, and disciple Travis Hunter, now on their way to the pro league, Coach Prime is making the most of the situation. His move? Transforming the Pro Day into a full-blown showcase. Now, most attention ran towards Shedeur and Travis, but even then, a few lesser-known players also managed to steal the shine. And one among them was this 290lb monster who’s even got Coach Prime’s props.
But who’s this 5’11, 290 lb freak who made his presence strong in front of the scouts in Colorado’s Pro Day? Well, it’s their star defensive tackle Chidozie Nwankwo, who set the tone early, throwing up 30 bench press reps and showcasing his strength in front of the scouts. Nwankwo even hit Instagram with a post buzzing about his exceptional Pro Day performance, saying, “I might have to sit and map it out because these 🥷🏾’s lost…”
But what made Chidozie Nwankwo’s highlight Pro Day post even more interesting was Deion Sanders’ comment appreciating this young man and showing his love towards him. “PROUD OF YOU MAN,” said Coach Prime. And the best part? Even Nwankwo replied to Coach Prime’s comment saying, “Love you, my Guy🤞🏾💙‼️.” For now, his 5-foot-11 frame may limit his NFL options, but he stands out as one of the strongest prospects in this year’s draft class. Chidozie is built to thrive, and no one knows it better than Warren Sapp.

Look, Nwankwo played a key role in Buffs’ defense last season and is now looking for a strong NFL landing spot. But it wasn’t just his draft stocks that were seeing a major hit; he wasn’t even invited to the NFL’s scouting Combine. Despite that, Warren Sapp made sure the scouts knew what they were missing. As for talking about the DT’s skills, he says, “Chidozie in the middle? If you find a better nose tackle in America, let me see him.”
Honestly, can we blame Warren Sapp for hyping him up? No, because Nwankwo’s record speaks about his excellence on the field. He immediately made an impact upon arriving in Boulder. Despite coming from Houston as a transfer, he participated in 11 games and started in 10 during his single season with the Buffs. Even though he missed two games due to an injury, the 5-foot-11, 290-pound player made a significant impact by accumulating 31 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks.
He saved his best for the Alamo Bowl loss to BYU, stacking seven tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. Back in Houston, he already turned heads in the Big 12 with five TFLs and a sack in 2023. And that’s the reason he deserves all the hype. But Nwankwo is not the only one making headlines after his Pro Day masterstroke. Shilo Sanders’ car bet is also what’s keeping the fans hooked…

Shilo is losing car bet with dad Deion Sanders
Well, Shilo Sanders had always shown his disbelief over Deion Sanders’ 4.27-second dash time. And he keeps on troubling him, making jokes over it, saying, “There’s no video of you running it.” But now, when Shilo got his chance to show his best dash time and win a car, he went all in and lost it all.

Shilo Sanders was close to reaching the finish line, but the prize remained unclaimed. Coach Prime’s son made a daring wager before Colorado’s Pro Day: if he could run a 4.29 in the 40-yard dash, his dad would buy him a new car. Despite his best efforts, Shilo fell short of victory. “I told him if he runs 4.29, I’d buy him a car,” Deion said with a grin. “He ran a 4.59 the first time, then a 4.52. So, no car.”
Even though he lost the bet, Shilo Sanders ran with determination, posting a solid 4.52 time, but it wasn’t the lightning-fast speed he needed. Coach Prime maintained his classic style, blending performance, showmanship, and some good-natured banter. Taking the loss in stride, Shilo shared a laugh with his dad after the results were out. While some have questioned Shilo Sanders’ 40-time at the Pro Day event, his mom, Pilar Sanders, isn’t entertaining any doubts. The former cheerleader for Coach Prime came out swinging with a video message that basically said, ‘Give that man his car’.
Even while watching from the sidelines, Pilar managed to make her presence known. She shared a clip from Deion Sanders Jr. that clearly captured CU staff timing Shilo at 4.45. But she didn’t stop there; she added a caption saying “Go Shilo!” and included a bold hashtag: #GetYourCar, directly reminding Coach Prime about his bet with their son.
