A year ago, the Big Ten Network Sportscaster made a heavy and emotional announcement that his wife is battling breast cancer. It was a tough year for them, and after battling it hard, Mike Hall came up with a positive update on Linda’s health.

Mike Hall revealed that his wife, Linda, fought hard and overcame cancer after a year of undergoing chemotherapy. He thanked the medical staff who helped his wife overcome this deadly disease and spread awareness among people. “A year ago today my wife got the call she had breast cancer.”

“Thanks to finding it early & great doctors/nurses her cancer is out and her arrow is pointing up. We’re turning tonight into a celebration. And hopeful if you see or feel something weird on you, go get checked,” Hall’s post read.

A year ago, Mike Hall announced his wife’s diagnosis on X. At the time, he said that Linda knew of a few women who were diagnosed with the condition at a relatively early age. The couple has endured the last 12 months through multiple sessions of chemotherapy, and finally, Linda is cancer-free.

Hall has been with the Big Ten Network for 18 years now. He has hosted some of the major programs of the network, including Friday Night Tailgate and Big Ten Football Report. Besides that, he has also been a broadcaster for NFL games.

So, when he announced his wife’s diagnosis last year, the entire footballing community came together to support him. Now, a year later, the community is there again. Only this time, it’s a cause of celebration.

Fans celebrate Linda’s successful battle against Cancer

Mike Hall’s happy news about Linda made fans join Mr. and Mrs. Hall in the celebration, as they poured love and support into the comment section. To provide more hope to the people fighting cancer, some tough fighters joined the chat, sharing their success stories. A fan wrote, “Congrats. My wife went through that and we are thankful after five years she is still cancer free.”

A fan had a replica of their story, “That’s wonderful! Were the same! Got the diagnosis 11/25/24. Partial done, radiation, and all clear!” Another warrior who stood with his wife in the hard time wrote, “Know how you feel Mike my wife went through it making full recovery good luck for the future.” A strong woman who won against cancer long back kept the comment section positive, “Congratulations.  Yes, at least once a year- mine is in the the rearview mirror 15 years ago!!”
