Head coach Deion Sanders was thrilled as fans stormed the Folsom field, showing their excitement. The only problem? He didn’t realize that kind of celebration was against the rules due to safety issues.

Here’s what happened: Despite the warning from the public-address announcer, a crowd began gathering near the railing of the end zone. But as QB Kaidon Salter took a final knee to end the game, fans began running towards the midfield logo. Unfortunately, one of the fans received more than what he bargained for.

As he was running, he took a painful bodycheck from the end zone goalpost. Soon, the student found himself underneath it. “I think you have to transfer schools if this happens,” Nick Perkins, a college sports content creator, wrote on X.

In the ten-second clip attached to the tweet, the young fan was seen trying to scramble free. However, his right arm was pinned to his body due to the weight of the goalpost. Thankfully, other fans who witnessed the incident quickly came to his rescue, and the fan was back on his feet within seconds.

The clip has been doing the rounds on the internet. And within hours, some comments confirmed the fan was alright.

So far, there is no official statement from the school about the fan’s well-being or the incident.

Update: The school lowered the goal post so that fans couldn’t take it home as a souvenir. While information is unavailable, it is possible the fan-incident took place while it was being lowered.

However, this is the only time when Colorado fans left their football program in a sticky spot. On September 27, the Buffs lost to BYU, and it didn’t take the fans much time to turn it into a nightmarish experience for Kalani Sitake’s program. The fans started derogatory chants; something that league commissioner Brett Yormark called “hateful and discriminatory language”.

‘Prime Time’ apologized on behalf of the school’s athletic department. Further, Colorado’s chancellor, Justin Schwartz, and athletic director, Rick George, issued a statement criticizing their students’ actions.

Regardless, the Big 12 Conference fined Colorado $50,000 and reprimanded the school. But amid these tense situations, there were some heartfelt moments, too.

Fans were still filling up the stands for the Colorado vs Iowa State face-off. That’s when Sanders noticed a pint-sized Colorado fan wearing a Buffaloes jersey. ‘Coach Prime’, the man who always wins hearts with his charismatic moves, walked down to the sidelines. He then removed his cap and gave it to the little one.

Well, just as Sanders turned around, the girl removed the hat. The man carrying her, presumably her father, tried to put it on her again, but to no avail.

Reporter Romi Bean captured the heartwarming video and posted it on her profile with the caption, “Coach Prime gives his hat to a young girl… but she’s not interested in wearing it. Dad keeps trying, but she ain’t having it.”

In the end, the Buffs won, and it goes without saying that the coach was satisfied.

“It means a lot, we won,” Coach Prime said in a post-game interview. “It’s different, it’s a different feel, a different mood. Ya lady wants to grab something to eat. Usually, I don’t want to be seen after a loss, I might actually go do it. You don’t wanna go nowhere when you get your b- – t kicked… I’ll go and eat somewhere because we won.”

It was a good day for him. Though it looked like the news of the fan almost getting crushed under the goalpost hadn’t reached him. When it does, a stern reprimand is inevitable. What do you think?
