Azzi Fudd won’t be part of the UConn Huskies anymore this season due to a long-term injury. Her health update has caused a major upset in her fandom and made the junior guard glum over her grounded state. But while uplifting her gloom, Paige Bueckers extended her warm support to fellow teammate in her terrible phase.

Paige Bueckers is one athlete who has experience recovering from major injuries. With the appropriate tutor, Azzi Fudd can overcome her most recent setback. The bright side for the Huskies shooting guard, who played only 15 games as a sophomore and missed 11 games as a freshman, is that she has an excellent roadmap to follow while making her return.

Bueckers cheered Azzi Fudd by sending a flower bouquet and get well soon balloon, as she captioned it, “My strongest soldier.”

Paige Bueckers, Fudd’s idol and teammate, had her own ACL damage less than a year after her tibia fracture and meniscus rupture in the same knee. As a result, the 2021 NCAA Player of the Year stepped up her efforts to solidify and strengthen herself as a basketball player.

UConn’s bad luck of injuries

Azzi Fudd’s season-ending knee injury is only the latest setback for the Huskies. Injuries have struck UConn basketball players in considerable numbers over the last three seasons.

Jana El Alfy, who tore her Achilles tendon in July, and Ayanna Patterson, who is presently sidelined due to offseason knee surgery, are the other two UConn players on the sidelines.

Patterson is still sidelined for UConn’s first game due to knee surgery she had in the offseason. Furthermore, Fudd and El Alfy are out for the year. Caroline Ducharme has also missed the team’s last two games due to back and neck pains.
