There is a long-standing rivalry between two of the most outstanding programs of the NCAA— the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Kentucky Wildcats. The last few games got every fan on their toes. Now, repeating the matchup is their next game on Saturday when UNC will host the Wildcats.

Previously, many bets were made on the outcome between the two teams, and it looks like history is repeating itself yet again. But will the wins keep jumping between the two?

Players to watch out for

These two teams have made their names and positions clear in the NCAA with their monster players. For instance, while North Carolina has RJ Davis averaging 21 points per game as their guard, the Wildcats have Antonio Reeves on their roster. The two guards are super versatile, both in their scoring and playing styles. Further, Rob Dillingham is all-in with his scoring and assists for Kentucky. At the same time, the forward for the UNC– Armando Bacot– has the highest rebound average per game on the team.

Other players that will surely rock the State Farm Arena on the Kentucky Wildcat roster are Adou Thiero with leading rebounds of 6.4, Reed Sheppard with 3 steals, and Tre Mitchell with third highest rank on the leaderboard. On the other hand, the North Carolina Tar Heels are also coming in full swing. Their top rankers– Harrison Ingard with an average score of 15 points per game, Cormac Ryan with 10 points per game average, and Elliot Cadeau sharing load for highest assists and 7 points per game are not short on their defense.

Tar Heels and the Wildcats- season so far

Placed at No.4 in the Atlantic Coast, North Carolina has made a promising start to their campaign, winning 7 out of their 9 games. Moreover, they carry an impressive scoring average of 85.1 and have a field goal percentage of 45.8. Also, four of the players from their locker room have a double-digit average so far. On the other hand, the Wildcats are sitting at the top of the SEC with a similar win-loss ratio. Kentucky holds an upper hand over UNC with a scoring average of 90.6 per game. In addition to this, they have a better field goal percentage of 50.4. Further, compared to UNC, they have 2 more players averaging in double-digits.
