With March Madness, comes a lot of debates, energy, and rivalry, but above all are the surprises. Something similar happened just recently, as the Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Kansas Jayhawks with a close 79-72 score. With the spread reportedly at -4.5 for the Jayhawks, and the Kansas franchise ranking as the 21st best in the KenPom rankings, losing to the 40th ranked Arkansas would have certainly been an upset for many. While several players contributed to this win, Arkansas might not have come out on top had it not been for Jonas Aidoo. After all, the player led the offensive effort with his 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist.

He signed his first NIL deal, back in September 2022, with Urban Outfitters. A few months later, he would follow that up with a deal with ZIPS Car Wash. A fun fact, apart from Aidoo, twelve athletes from Arkansas, North Carolina, and Tennessee have signed with the brand. Location played an important part in the brand signing, as the six schools from whom the athletes were chosen were reportedly in the main geographic footprint of the express car wash company.

In November 2023, UConn women’s basketball star Paige Bueckers and 16 other student-athletes, including Aidoo, joined Team Dunkin’ in a new NIL deal through a collaboration with Learfield. Only a month later, the player partnered with The Volunteer Club. On February 2024, Jonas Aidoo signed two separate deals on the same day. One was with Casey’s, a renowned convenience store and pizza chain. He signed the deal along with then Arkansas guard Davonte Davis, and then Iowa women’s basketball guard Gabbie Marshall. The three players were reportedly chosen to promote Casey’s annual giving campaign benefiting ‘Feeding America’. The 2nd deal was with The Players’ Lounge.
