Well, you see, before lifting the natty, in the Summer, Paige Bueckers confirmed, “Everybody saw the ‘World Tour,’ they didn’t see the ‘Work Tour’ which is fine. They see me like three or four hours a day and think they know my entire 24 hours, which is cool, it’s fine. The work will always show. I’m a believer in that and I have confidence in that.” 

Back then, she was heavily criticized for her outdoor escapades including spotting in the ESPYs, the US Open, the WNBA games to support her former teammates, and then the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers game. She even had to take a quick flight to reach Storrs for her classes the next morning. Her not being serious for the Huskies attracted all forms of judgements but one thing that definitely won everyone over was her fashion that she describes as a blend of “masculine and feminine elements.”

While her confidence in herself and her skills on the court has now become an admirable aspect as the projected number 1 pick continues her journey to the WNBA as a national champion, it seems like her most recent trip to The Big Apple to continue her national title victory lap wasn’t as appealing. But instead of Jimmy Fallon’s signature zingers, it was the fans with some views on the Husky’s outfit.

During one of his monologues, Fallon announced, “We love Paige Bueckers. Paige Bueckers is the best. Congrats to her and UConn on winning the national championship. Paige Bueckers!” As the cheers and applause roared in the Studio 6B, in a very apparent disguising act that followed, he said while trying to hide his smile, “Man, I wish I could celebrate with her and hold the trophy, but that’ll never happen.” And the long midnight blue curtains opened and there entered, Paige Bueckers and… wait for it… the NCAA Tournament hardware!

“Oh my God! Paige Bueckers!” Jimmy exclaimed as he walked towards her and held the trophy. The moment was ecstatic as the cheers only grew louder for the college basketball superstar. Adding to it, the guard took a round through the audience, showing her hard-earned title, and she certainly did earn it. As for her outfit, oh well.

According to sources, she made her appearance in a Vale Forever VA-1 Cargo Pant in Black Camo, Vale Forever “Starlight” Flannel shirt in black and white, and Zara’s Thick Sole Black Shoes. Interestingly, along with Azzi Fudd and Kaitlyn Chen, she later met with Alicia Keys and more.

It’s safe to say Bueckers has been all over the media since cutting down the nets. But she’s earned every spotlight. After battling through injuries and setbacks, the star senior returned stronger, leading the Huskies to their first national championship in nearly a decade. Geno Auriemma’s squad dominated the reigning champions twice in one season to put an end to their back-to-back title hopes with a final 82-59 sweep.

Of course, fans had their own take on what made the Huskies unstoppable. Some joked that they won “because of the power of friendship.” But here’s the kicker—Paige didn’t deny it.

“I saw on social media, they were saying UConn won based on the power of friendship. It’s so accurate,” she said. “Just how much we love each other, how much we’re connected, how much we’ve been through as individuals, as a team, and how much it has bonded us and helped us become national champions. So I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

But make no mistake—this was no fluke championship. The Huskies went 37-3, were undefeated in 18 conference games, and closed the season on a 16-game winning streak. Now, with the WNBA Draft just days away, Paige Bueckers is projected to go No. 1 overall. The next chapter is calling. However, just as quickly, they flocked to the comment section to point out one thing. “the fit.” “dk man some of yall are dtm cause I lowkey mess with it,” one spectator shared, clearly torn between fashion norms and Paige’s own style.

Bold? Absolutely. Safe? Not so sure. “Ummmm what is she wearing,” another chimed in. To a few, it was more than just an outfit—it was very Paige. But not everyone was on the same page. “Man idk if it was p or Brittany who chose that outfit but I hope they stay off Twitter tonight,” someone added.
