Andre Iguodala is a veteran with a lot to offer. Even though he spent most of his career as a borderline all-star, his peak is one that many people never reach. Iguodala won the 2015 Finals MVP for his clutch defense on LeBron James. He was the glue that held the Warriors super team together. He took a bench role and became one of the most lethal players in the league.

Iguodala was one of the casualties of the Warriors break up this year, being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. He refused to play for a Memphis team that was expected to tank. He never suited up for the Grizzlies, eventually being traded to the Miami Heat. Iguodala added key depth to the surging Miami Heat team, who are pegged as dark-horse contenders in the Eastern Conference this year.

Iguodala has career-lows in every major statistical category this season, but it is because of his reduced role. He is averaging a career-high in blocks with 1.1 a game. Iguodala had a beautiful putback dunk in the Heat’s game against the Boston Celtics. Steph Curry shared the video of it on Instagram and referred to the time Iguodala said his basketball game is a direct reflection of how many rounds of golf he can get.

Iguodala isn’t going to be a high-level contributor. He is a lower-bench rotation player who gets less than 20 minutes a game. This is because of his 16 years of service already. However, that experience will be counted on in the playoffs. Iguodala is a clutch playoff performer and he displayed that in 2015.

Andre can also help nurture the Heat’s young core. Hopefully, it goes better than his experience with the Grizzlies young core.
