Derrick Rose is going to play for the Detroit Pistons for a second season, after putting up a stellar performance last year. However, now he wants to lead the team the way Jimmy Butler leads Miami Heat.

The Pistons didn’t even come close to making the playoffs last season. But by drafting a talented guard, Killian Hayes in the 2020 NBA Draft, the Pistons can be hopeful for a deeper run this season. Also, Rose’s experience will be very helpful for a young guard like Hayes.
In just his early years, Rose made a name for himself in the league. Even when his rookie season ended, he continued to show dominance on the court. But right after he won the NBA MVP award in his third season, Rose was struck with tragedy. He tore his ACL during the playoffs, which changed the course of his career.

He spent seven seasons with the Bulls, but after that, was moved from team to team. In 2019, he joined the Pistons and instantly became one of the key players of the team. Despite struggling with multiple injuries throughout his career, Rose has proved himself.
Derrick Rose looks up to Jimmy Butler?
As the veteran is ready to stay another season for the Pistons, he believes his team isn’t any different from Miami Heat. And he believes he can take up the same role Butler holds in Heat.
As per Heat Nation, “I look at that and I look at our team, we have the same thing. We have a lot of young guys. It’s up to them how good they want to become. We’ll do as much as we can do to push them and set an example.”
After the way, we saw Butler lead the Heat to the NBA Finals last season who wouldn’t want to be like him? The Miami Heat had an incredible run in last year’s postseason and gave the Lakers a tough time in the Finals.
But taking up a role like that won’t come easy. It could mean sometimes going against the teammates and still manage to maintain a great relationship with them. Do you think Rose is ready for that?
