It looks like the Milwaukee Bucks are hell-bent on keeping their word to Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks were one of the strongest teams last season. They had the best record during the regular season. However, it all came crashing down as soon as they entered the Orlando Bubble. By the time they made it to the second round of playoffs, Jimmy Butler and Co. had no trouble eliminating them.

This did not sit well with their star player, Giannis, who has one year left on his contract with the Bucks. With a fear of losing the face of their franchise, the Bucks gave Giannis their word that they would do all they can to better their chances at the title.

With all the intense activity going on this offseason, the Bucks are doing just that, making sure Giannis stays.

Milwaukee Bucks transactions: Players signed via trades and free agency

The blockbuster trade the Bucks made this offseason was for Jrue Holiday in exchange for George Hill and Eric Bledsoe to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Jrue is considered one of the most talented players in the league. His veteran presence and ability to defend the opponent’s top perimeter player will go a long way for the Bucks.

The Bucks needed more playmaking on their offense, and that’s something Jrue is a perfect fit for. He averaged 19.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds last season, and his size brings out his versatility.

Next up, the Bucks re-signed Pat Connaughton. This may not have been their best decision because Pat may grab some rebounds, but he lost his grip several times in the playoffs last season.

Players lost

Bledsoe was seen struggling the previous season. Therefore, trading him for Jrue was a better option for a championship-caliber team like the Bucks. Hill was one of the good reserves last season and the Bucks have taken a gigantic risk by trading two two rotation players for one. However, it might be for the best because Jrue will bring the depth the roster needs.

During the 2020 NBA Draft, the Bucks acquired point guard R.J. Hampton with the 24th overall pick. Although, Hampton was also traded to the Denver Nuggets as part of the Jrue Holiday deal.

All these moves are making things very clear for Giannis. The Bucks are willing to go to any extent to build the best roster around their superstar. Will this major shakeup prove to be fruitful for the Bucks? Or will it make matters worse?
