Golden State Warriors have had a bad year. Kevin Durant left them in the off-season, a deal which brought them D’Angelo Russell. Steph Curry got injured early in the season, and the Warriors went to the bottom of the league. The Golden State sits with 15 wins and 50 losses.

Coach Steve Kerr views the new season as a rebuilding year. He appeared on The Atheltic’s ‘Hoops, Adjacent’ podcast and spoke about the team and where they are going. “I talk with Bob Myers and Rick Celebrini and our training staff, the developmental coaches, we talk all the time about trying to build a plan, but without a time frame, it’s just so hard.

“Just try to use the time to our advantage to see where we can improve. We have not had much time at all the last five or six years. It just seems like the seasons have run together. This is a time to step back and analyze our program.”

The eight-time NBA Champion spoke about his practice sessions with the returning Klay Thompson and how Andrew Wiggins will fit into the Warriors system. “It was great to see Klay, because he loves the game so much. He loves to play. And he’s missed it so much. And he looked great… We don’t know when basketball will be played, but Klay will be ready.”

When talking about Wiggins, Kerr further said, “It makes much more sense from a roster standpoint, positional standpoint. And now it’s on us to put it all together. And I think Andrew’s going to be great. I think he’ll fit in really well with Steph and Klay and Draymond. We’re really excited about our possibilities with the roster next year.”

Golden State Warriors will return with a full-strength line up next year. Along with their four main players, the Warriors have a high-lottery pick from this year’s draft from which they could acquire Memphis big-man James Wiseman. Moreover, The Warriors are in possession of a 17 million dollar trade expectation from Memphis, and they can add a solid role-player with that.
