However, after all this drama, James Harden might end up staying where he played last season. The Nets won’t go for him this year after all, and the explanation is pretty obvious.

Why James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets was never a logical move

We live in a world filled with speculations and opinions. Unofficial updates suggested that the Nets were in deep talks about bringing Harden into the team and that he was willing to leave Houston as well.

However, NetsDaily’s Twitter account posted a recent update that debunks all such theories. They quoted ‘The Athletic’s’ Shams Charania as their source and mentioned that “talks never progressed” between these teams.

Harden playing alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving seems too good to be true, and perhaps that’s why it will remain a fantasy. The Twitter page further mentioned why the deal never happened in the first place:

“Brooklyn, there’s not the pieces on that team to get a deal done that Houston would feel is applicable for a guy like James Harden.”

To put things into perspective, the Rockets are expecting a huge return for Harden. The franchise expects to be showered with draft picks and a few ‘star players’ players for them to part ways with the 3x NBA scoring champion.

Houston’s playing the right game, aren’t they? They’re willing to ship out their cornerstone player to Brooklyn, but demand valuable assets in return. Now the Nets can’t send KD or Kyrie in return, as it would destroy the whole motive of bringing in Harden.

Nonetheless, if you’re a passionate fan who awaited the official update about the trade, let your hopes fly. James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets is not happening, at least in 2020!
