The 48-year-old has also worked in the NBA‘s basketball operations office from 2003 to 2008 and as an international scout for the Houston Rockets from 2008 to 2013.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Karnisovas was the clear front runner for the job. A multilayer deal was in agreement between the two teams on Wednesday.

What Next For The Bulls?

Karnisovas’ first prioritized task would be to hire a new GM, while on the other hand, vast changes to the management are also expected out of him.

Current General Manager of the Bulls, Gar Forman’s time has nearly come to an end while the future of Jim Boylen who is the head coach, still remains uncertain.

Karnisovas has made some shrewd decisions as Denver’s GM in the past which helped the team shine in recent years. Coming into the windy city, Karnisovas’ motive would be to make the changes he sees fit.

He would also have to plan for the upcoming NBA draft, although he has very little time on his hands.

The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor wrote:

“Arturas Karnisovas is a great hire by the Bulls. Karnisovas is highly respected in the basketball world. He’s got a stoic personality, and he’s insightful. Chicago got a good one.”

The Lithuanian would be entrusted in steering the Bulls towards a successful campaign in the 2020-21 NBA season.

The Chicago Bulls currently stand 11th in the Eastern Conference table, with a win-loss record of 22-43.
