The Washington Wizards broke their four-game losing streak against the Brooklyn Nets tonight. It was an intense end to the game and stars Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook came in clutch for them.

It was Beal’s 15th game in a row with over 25 points, and it finally gave the Wizards their fourth win of the season. But in the first half, Beal barely looked interested. He took zero shots in the first quarter, despite being their primary scorer. However, with the Wizards down by seven entering the fourth quarter, Beal turned it around completely.

He shot a ridiculous 8-9 from the field in the last 12 mins, scoring 22 points by himself. The Nets defense couldn’t do anything to slow him down, as he went into a scoring frenzy. His wife, Kamiah Adams-Beal, immediately took to Twitter to reply to critics who slandered Beal for his performance prior to the third quarter.

Can Bradley Beal help to resurrect the Wizards’ season?

Beal had a slow start to the game tonight while Westbrook took over. After his six-shots first-half performance, Beal showed some urgency in the third quarter. But he went 2-8 from the field, including 1-7 from three, and couldn’t help the team cut the deficit. However, he rescued the team with his fourth-quarter performance and gave the Wizards their second win over the Nets.

Despite this win, the Wizards are still at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Beal recognized this and said there was no time for celebration for him. “I’m going home to my wife and kids, man. We got more work to do. No celebration in the Beal household,” he said.

When Westbrook arrived in Washington, the Wizards were called a playoff team. But they are far from it now. It is still early in the season, but they will have to work very hard to make this climb. They’re barely 0.250 right now and have a long way to go to upstage the current eighth seed.

If they can continue to churn out similar performances, there may be some hope for them. Otherwise, they are likely to miss the playoffs for the third season in a row.
