The Los Angeles Lakers have been playing without LeBron James for a few weeks now. But that isn’t stopping him from being on the court throughout the game, especially from the sidelines.

Tonight, against the Hornets, LeBron was on the baseline for the entire game and was also arguing with the referees. During the second quarter, Andre Drummond was given a foul when he tried to go for a charge. That resulted in the Hornets getting free throws, but LeBron wasn’t happy about it.

He had an extended chat with the referees, something that the Lakers coach Frank Vogel wasn’t doing himself. But that didn’t stop LeBron, who tried his best to argue the call. The Hornets announcer hilariously referred to Bron as the head coach while this was going on. He said, “LeBron James… he’s not even in uniform and he’s the de facto assistant coach. Maybe the head coach.”

LeBron James refuses to stay uninvolved just because of an injury

While rival fans were not at all pleased about LeBron complaining from the sidelines, Lakers fans were happy about him going into coach-mode. Despite not being able to play, his passion for the team doesn’t allow him to just sit idle on the bench.

Not only was he talking to the refs as though he was a coach, but he was also directing the Lakers on defense. They are one of the best defensive teams even in his absence, and he is doing his best to help them from the sidelines. Later, veteran Jared Dudley also joined him on the sidelines as the duo combined to bark instructions and also talk to officials.

LeBron hasn’t played for the Lakers in almost a month so one can see that he is raring to return. But at the same time, he wants to take the required rest and not make a hasty return.

When will Bron return to action?

On Saturday, ESPN reported that LeBron could return in three weeks. There were talks that he would most likely return directly for the playoffs since the Lakers wanted him at a 100% for the postseason. But with the Lakers’ form dropping, this could be crucial for them. The Lakers will get their leader back and also their main scorer, which could help them arrest their slump.
