According to TMZ, Howard filed the paperwork Monday morning, listing the marriage as “irretrievably broken” with no hope of reconciliation. He also requested exclusive use of his Georgia mansion in the filing.
However, the situation did not appear to collapse overnight. The events leading to this divorce filing stretch back months.

Howard and Luciani were married January 11, 2025. But their relationship quickly ran into trouble. In July 2025, Luciani filed for divorce for the first time. During that filing, she made several serious allegations, including claiming that Howard once tried to give her herbal tea that she believed had been laced with a drug.
Howard’s attorney, Gillian B. Fierer, strongly denied the accusations at the time and described them as “patently false.” Despite the legal filings, the couple later dismissed the divorce petition and appeared to reconcile.

In the months that followed, they were frequently seen together publicly. They attended Hall of Fame weekend events and were even photographed together at a WWE event last month, which led many fans to believe the marriage had stabilized.
That perception changed suddenly a few days ago. Luciani uploaded multiple emotional videos to Instagram, though they were deleted just hours later. In those videos, she made explosive claims about Howard’s behavior. Among the allegations, she accused him of being a drug addict and claimed Child Protective Services had visited their home three times in less than three months.

In one clip, Luciani said her stepdaughter had been taken by CPS because of her father. In another moment captured on video, Luciani questioned her stepson directly, asking whether his father had told him to lie to police. According to the video, the child answered yes.
Luciani recorded the clips while sitting in her car and appeared emotional, saying that people close to Howard were aware of the situation but previously urged her not to leave the marriage last year. The videos quickly circulated online before being deleted.

Dwight Howard’s response: divorce filing
Soon after those clips went viral, Howard took legal action. According to the divorce filing obtained by TMZ, Howard confirmed the January 2025 marriage date but stated the relationship is now beyond repair.
While Luciani had filed for divorce first last year, this time Howard is the one initiating the separation. So far, Howard has not released a personal statement, and Luciani has also remained silent following the deletion of the videos.

The situation drew reactions from people already connected to Howard’s complicated personal life. Howard is the father of five children with five different women, and his first public relationship was with Royce Reed, a former Orlando Magic cheerleader who shares a son with him.

In 2024, Reed launched an Instagram page titled “ihadababybysuperman”, where she has posted about her experiences dealing with Howard. After Luciani’s accusations surfaced, Reed responded online.
“Now you want to speak because he brought you into it,” Reed wrote. “Girl, keep me blocked! Bcuz imma CLOCK IT!” Reed clarified that her frustration was not directed toward the children involved but toward Howard himself.
Their son Braylon also commented on the situation. “I really hope you’re getting the help you need,” Braylon said. “But I told y’all, man, my mama did too, especially. But it gets to a point where you just gotta learn to deal with certain things as you get older.”

For now, the divorce filing marks the second attempt to legally end the marriage in less than a year. Neither Howard nor Luciani has issued any further statements since the Instagram videos were removed.
But with accusations circulating online and family members now weighing in publicly, the situation has once again pushed Dwight Howard’s personal life back into the spotlight. And this time, the split may finally be permanent.
