The Chicago Bulls were a gigantic force in the ‘90s during the Michael Jordan era. They achieved more as a franchise in that one decade than in any of the other decade put together. But now, the present-day Bulls are proving that there were certain numbers that remained out of MJ and his team’s reach.

The Bulls defeated the Rockets 120-100 in a game that they dominated for the first 42 minutes. With this victory, they are now #9 on the EC table and that’s not bad for a team that entered the season as an underdog. Plus, they now have a new franchise-record to their name.

The Bulls now have 12 straight road games where they scored at least 105 points. This is something that even the Bulls in the Jordan era failed to achieve. In these 12 away games, the Bulls recorded 6-6 in W/L and averaged 118.66 points. Interestingly, five of the six losses came with a point-difference of four or below that. They lost some close games to the Kings, the Lakers, the Clippers, the Thunders, and the Magic.
In fact, the last time they went below 105 points was against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Fiserv Forum Arena, a game they lost 96-126. All-in-all, in the 15 away games as of now, the Bulls have averaged an impressive 117.87 with an 8-7 record with two games facing postponement. Obviously, one must note that the pandemic has flattened the difference between a home game and an away game, but these numbers and the close games prove the Bulls are raging hot.
The Chicago Bulls are rebuilding their dynasty
For the new-age Bulls, Coby White is turning out to be a prolific point guard, averaging 15.3 points per game in his second season. Plus, they have a veteran guard in Garrett Temple who is proving beneficial from both ends of the floor. The 21-YO Wendell Carter Jr has also shown great tenacity and athleticism in his plays and continues to improve as a center.

But the hero of the team is Zach LaVine, who is averaging 28.9 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 5.1 apg, and 1.2 spg in a season that is helping him touch many Michael Jordan records that earlier seemed too unreal to achieve. The Bulls are young and ferocious with the potential to make it into the postseason and possibly upset a better team.
