What looked like a definite loss for the Golden State Warriors, as they were without most of their frontcourt rotation, turned into a battle of three-pointers. This was a battle which they clearly won. The matchup became more about who could get the most buckets from the arc with the team’s superstars, Luka Doncic and Stephen Curry, butting heads.

However, as interesting as that might have been for most, Charles Barkley got nothing but fed up.

More threes but a loss for the Dallas Mavericks

Over the years, we’ve seen the game transition into a shooting fest, with many players taking shots from beyond the arc. In fact, a player who struggles in that area, no matter how big an entity he is, is always in the face of criticism. However, this was certainly not the case with the Warriors and Mavericks.

It is not a surprise when two teams combine for around 60 three-point attempts in a game. But it is highly unlikely for anyone to touch almost 100 attempts in a matchup. That’s right, the Mavericks attempted 50 three’s and the Warriors 43. However, the Warriors got more shots in than them.

Watching this intense battle, former NBA player and now NBA analyst, Charles Barkley, went on an unbelievable rant. He is known for not holding back his opinions and did exactly that when the game was in halftime.

He said, “Y’all sit there and watch this stupid ass basketball, just jack up 3’s all night. If they go in, we win. If we miss, we lose. Give me a break, you dumba**.”

The Golden State Warriors were enough

There were so many reasons to believe that this game belonged to Dallas. Firstly, not only were James Wiseman, Kevon Looney, and Eric Paschall sidelined because of injuries, Luka Doncic is taller than most of the Dubs squad that played today. He could have easily defended a short-handed Stephen Curry.

But with Kelly Oubre Jr. putting up his career-high 40 point-performance and Curry chipping in 28 points as well, the Warriors stole the win, and it was game over at 147-116.

The Mavs just couldn’t contain the Warriors offense who are rising up the West slowly but steadily with a 12-0 record. Can Golden State make their way to the playoffs this season?
