Ball has made a name for himself for his playmaking skills and is now showcasing his offensive capabilities as well. However, his Hornets are not a championship squad and he may have to switch the boat in the coming years. But the one team he might never join would be the Los Angeles Lakers.

Why LaMelo will never join the Lakers

One of the main reasons LaMelo might never be in the purple and gold is their history with his brother, Lonzo. A #2 draft pick, Lonzo Ball came into LA as a high-ranked prospect. But things didn’t turn out great for him as he couldn’t perform up to the expectations. After a couple of years, Lonzo was sent off to New Orleans in a trade for Anthony Davis.

But, LaVar and Lonzo have had a shaky relationship and Melo signing with Puma made LaVar unhappy too. So whether or not they’ll fulfill their dad’s wish and play on the same team has to be seen.

However, the trade for Lonzo did draw a controversy. Despite playing only parts of seasons due to injuries, he averaged 10 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal per game. So, looking at the way Lonzo was treated by the organization, LaMelo may keep the Lakers off his list.
