The Denver Nuggets came out as a clutch unit in the Orlando Bubble where they came back from 1-3 deficit not once but twice. The duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray proved how one can not discard them as a contending team because they’d fight until it’s officially over. 

The season 2020-21 promised an even better performance as the Nuggets stood third in the WC and had a real shot at the NBA Finals. However, an injury scare for Jamal Murray ensured they were on the back foot against the mighty Suns. But now, a fresh start is awaiting them, and here is how their opening lineup would look. 

Frontcourt starters for Denver Nuggets

Michael Porter Jr. (Small Forward)

MPJ came to their rescue during all those games when they missed Jamal’s scoring prowess. He ended the regular season with a MIP-level performance and then continued his extraordinary free-throw shooting, rebounding, and three-point shooting in the playoffs too. This next season from him will certainly be crucial and high on expectations.

Jeff Green (Power forward)

If Aaron Gordon’s trade was a boss move from Denvers, getting the services of Jeff Green just added cherry to the pie. Jeff can combine with MPJ to ensure an insane perimeter shooting. Sure, his playmaking is a downside, but the man’s success as a forward position player in the past can help his confidence.

Nikola Jokic (Center)

Nikola Jokic might be a modest man with no intentions to win yet another MVP award, but everyone sees it as a possibility. He is underrated and perhaps itching to get an NBA ring on his resume. With quarterback-like passing skills, mad dunk ability, and rim protection like none other, this man can lead the mountains to greatness.

Backcourt starting lineup

Monte Morris (Point Guard)

Man-Man Monte started 13/47 games last season and might now have the responsibility to fill in the wide shoes of Jamal Murray. Murray may take his time for a comeback and until then, Monte must up his level and take more shots. If not for Monte, the Nuggets would still have a shot at trading a star point guard and filling in for the void. 

Will Barton (Shooting guard)

Scorer’s mentality, great athleticism, and a promising experience define Will Barton. The People’s Champ must become the Nuggets’ Bobby Portis and help the Nuggets go deeper into the postseason.
