Kobe Bryant was a public figure who had books written on him, an Oscar-winning short film made on him, and everything that follows it. Hence, one would have a hard time believing that there were layers from his life that mostly remained unknown. Take, for example, the relationship between him and his parents or even his sisters.

There have been articles written on Kobe’s on-and-off with his parents but nothing that gives away the intrinsic details. Later, when KB’s parents did not receive a personal invitation for his Hall of Fame enshrinement, the matter resurfaced.
However, amidst all this, a sensible Vanessa Bryant recently initiated something to blow a breeze of positivity within her family.

To give a perspective, plus-size model Anansa Sims, a friend of Kobe’s sister, Shaya Bryant, recently sparked controversy. The 42-YO first penned down a congratulatory message for Kobe’s HOF induction and then added something unfortunate.
She raised her voice in a comment and detailed how nobody took the initiative to personally invite Kobe’s parents. This came after Vanessa’s powerful speech, where she revealed how Kobe wanted his parents in attendance.
Perhaps, this negativity around the issue compelled Vanessa to do something about it. So, just last week, she took a step and gifted Kobe’s elder sister, Sharia Washington Bryant, a white Tesla.

Kobe Bryant and his relationship with parents/sisters
One must note that Kobe Bryant learned his first lessons of basketball from his father Joe ‘Jellybean’ Bryant and his uncle John ‘Chubby’ Cox. So, he obviously enjoyed a great family relationship that arguably lasted 21 years.
Because just as the Black Mamba turned 21, he married Vanessa Bryant against the approval of his parents. His mom and dad naturally wanted their very young son to focus on his game. However, Kobe did not follow their advice, and that introduced bitterness to their relation.

On the other hand, KB shared a very deep bond with both his sisters. However, there was one thing that the 5x Champion disliked and that was his sisters’ monetary dependency on Kobe.
So, in a tough move, he had stopped sending them money so they become self-dependent. Reading about all this, one can understand how everything was so complex between the Bryants.
And hence, the first move of gifting from Vanessa comes as a welcoming gesture that can further bring the whole family back together. We hope to see all of them in one picture.
