Nikola Jokic and Nikola Vucevic:

The two players came up against each other when the Nuggets took on the Bulls recently. Jokic and Vucevic have been seen talking to each other during stoppages; that was brought forward by reporters. During the press conference, Jokic mentioned how he and Vucevic are close friends and share a special bond.

The friendship between the two goes a long way. Vucevic had heard about Jokic even before Jokic made his entry into the league. The duo loves going up against each other, which is quite clear from their battles during the matches.

Over the years we’ve gotten to know each other really well. He’s obviously a great player and a good friend of mine. So it’s fun to go up against him” Vučević told NBC Sports Chicago.

Jokić smiled when asked about the two’s relationship, which spans from All-Star weekend to sessions of the popular video game Counter-Strike. Vucevic and Jokic belong to the NBA’s Balkan fraternity – which also includes Luka Doncic, Goran Dragic.

Nikola Jokic’s season so far:

Former NBA MVP Nikola Jokic has had a stellar season so far. The Denver Nuggets forward is averaging 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game. Jokic has managed to score 2 triple-doubles and score 30+ points five times in the games he has played.

Jokic’s performance this season has really gone under the radar with not many counting on him to win the MVP award. One of the major reasons is the nature of his play, which is not appealing to fans.

Jokic does not throw flashy dunks and is able to score points without any fancy handles. Many consider him to be quite slow, which is not true, as Jokic possesses the ability to break ankles at ease.

The Nuggets are 8th in the Western Conference, winning only 11. The difference Jokic brings to his team is massive, with a point difference of +3.4 when he is playing and a difference of -12.1 when he is absent. (Source: NBA.com)
