The Lakers are treating this off-season as if it’s a now or never situation for them. After squeezing in the best trades possible, the Lake Show now has LeBron James and Co. making every minute count in the gym while most teams are still awaiting the NBA preseason-opening day.

Sweat more in training and bleed less in battle is perhaps the Lakers’ new motto ahead of the 2021-22 season. It all started with LeBron and Russell Westbrook hitting the gym together. Then, the likes of Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony followed suit in their individual practice. But now, they’ve all come together.

Lakers mini-camp is as intense as it can get

Only recently, news broke that LeBron James had initiated a mini-camp before the official practice began. And now leaked footage from the same minicamp is out for the fans to enjoy.

A school kid named Chris, who is a major Lakers fan, filmed the Lakers Nation workout hiding under a sheet. As he shot, he couldn’t help but react with, “Oh my god, oh my god… LeBron!” as his camera captured Dwight Howard, Russell Westbrook, Bron, and others in clear frames. Take a look at those accurate corner threes under the supervision of Phil Handy (as it appears) –

While Russ, in his purple shorts and Superman, in his golden shorts represented the Lakers, others were working on their ball-passing, jumpers, and dunks.

LeBron James went through a body transformation?

The 36-YO Hammer is entering his 19th NBA season and fourth as the Lakers’ leader. Last season, his right ankle kept him from giving his 100% and that was reason enough for Bron to make some changes.

So now, the 6’8” forward player has “slimmed up” in order to force more athleticism out of his aging body. As per the team’s GM Rob Pelinka, the 250 lbs weighing athlete has gone through a physical transformation. Further, the 51-YO revealed, “He’s been very, very locked in with his training, and you get a sense he has a confidence in his teammates when he looks around the locker room.”

Well, good for Bron because the last thing he would want is his ankles to bother him again. So this leaning up and hosting the mini-camp, both come as welcoming moves. Do you see Bron enjoying an injury-free 2021-22 season with optimum support from the new roster? Help us know in the comments below.
