Injuries can cause a lot of damage to a player’s physicality. However, some injuries could be career-ending. Recently, in the matchup of Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, a player almost suffered a career-ending back injury. After the incident, even Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid went in to check upon them.
The Brooklyn Nets have come into the season with a hot start. Being the team on top of the East, their team looks settled. However, the New York-based team has had their issues with injuries. Currently, even James Harden is out for the Nets. Moreover, they are yet to see Kyrie Irving suit up as well.

Now, in a scary incident against the 76ers, the Nets could have had another player go into the injury list.

Claxton’s scary fall leaves Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid worried
As the Nets and 76ers battle it out, Embiid tried to make his way to the rim. However, center Nicolas Claxton came in attempting to block the shot. However, as he tried to block the shot, he got up quite high. While coming down, Claxton landed hard on his back and even had his hand tucked underneath him.
After the fall, he stayed down for some time and had Durant and Embiid check upon him.
Claxton is only just coming back into action after suffering an illness. He has lost a significant amount of weight and is slowly making his way back. If the incident caused an injury, it would sideline the Nets center for a long time. Back injuries are quite serious, and could be threatening to a player’s career.
That is the reason Kevin Durant and Embiid came in to check on him.
While the Nets have all the offense they could ask for, Claxton serves as their top defender. Last year, his defense was ranked among the top 10 in the entire league. His presence is really important for the Nets who are looking to go all the way this season. With Durant playing at an MVP level, a defensive presence like Claxton could change the way the Nets appear as a team.
